Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Clark.
Hi Angel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Oh, it’s been a long haul 🙂 . I graduated from GA State University (the REALGSU) with a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Pre-Law. My goal while in college was to attend Law School. and get into Real Estate Law–I even took Real Estate Classes while at GSU but life hit. I had my oldest child two months before graduation and decided to put law school on hold. After graduation, I explored several career fields–banking, education and HR/Talent Acquisition(which I still do) but I always had hopes of getting into Real Estate in some way. Lucky for me, I have friends that push me when I don’t push myself (shout out to Relonda!) A friend of mine got into a real estate and tried for several years to convince me that I should join. After she sold me my house, I decided to pursue the opportunity but I decided to take the online route and unfortunately I just couldn’t focus to stay on top of the classes –so after three attempts, I decided to enroll on a weekend class that would allow me to be in person and BOOM here I am! I am entering my 4th year of Real Estate and loving every minute of it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not At All. From 3 attempts to complete the class to buckling down and completing a six weeks class while still being a FT Mommy and FT Wife and still working — it’s been rough. I still work FT as a Talent Acquisition Consultant (which has helped build my clientele) while managing my real estate business.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I just entered my 4th year of Real Estate. I am a buyer’s agent with a niche for First Time Homebuyers but work with all buyers and all budgets. I wear many hats as a realtor–advisor, therapist (I’ve talked many of them off a ledge), support system, lol. Ironically because of my background in recruiting a lot of my clients have been nurses but I take all pre-approved clients 🙂 I like to consider myself a REALtor (get it?) I am very transparent with my clients–I’m also the one you can call at 1am to help you talk through your worries.
What were you like growing up?
I’m a middle child so I always say I have middle children syndrome. But I’d say I’m a go getter and very determined.
