Check Out Angelle Morris’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelle Morris.

Hi Angelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Our business originally started with an idea of having affordable accessories for women. Eventually, that turned into accessories, clutches and handbags and shortly afterward, we decided to focus on affordable accessories for men and women.

My best friend Tamika and I would do all of the modeling in the beginning and then I reached out to my close friend Lemar and asked if he could model for the men and he was perfectly fine with it. Eventually, we all agreed this should be a partnership between the three of us.

When I think about the process of selecting pieces, I initially purchased what I thought people would like, but that didn’t work out so well. We often collaborate on ideas between the three of us and we look for trends, see what’s in style, see what’s unique and occasionally run polls in order to see what interests potential buyers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This road has not been smooth at all! There’s bumps practically every single week but we all know that this is a part of the process.

Some of our struggles have been understanding proper marketing strategies, branding, collaborations, connecting with our target audience, turning a profit, and how to find funding.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well, for myself, Angelle, I work with one of the largest health insurance companies as a Business Analyst. I’ve been in this industry for about 10 years now and I’m also working on my Ph.D. in Health Science.

Tamika, one of the partners, is an owner of a health and wellness business called Mone’s Healty Eats. She is a lupus survivor and an advocate and her business specialize in gut health.

Lemar, my other partner is worked in the hospital industry for about 8 years now and is an IT Supervisor for the Disaster Recovery Team. He is also a military veteran and has served for 11 years.
