Check Out Anna Stoller’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Stoller.

Anna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Anna Baker Stoller. My maiden name, Baker, is the inspiration behind Beads by Baker.

I’m a mom of two and a school nurse, and I started beading in August 2024 as a creative outlet during a time of immense sadness after the loss of my father, Tom Baker. He had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and was deeply committed to his many endeavors. Connection was key for him; he was known by many as a detailed storyteller who could build a connection with just about anyone he met. Watching him work, network, and follow his passions and interests encouraged me to pursue what interested me.

What initially began as something to keep my hands and mind busy has transformed into more than I could have ever imagined. With a year under my belt, my business is growing and my skills are improving. I have no doubt that my drive is coming directly from him.

More importantly, this business has given me the opportunity to connect with so many people. I know he would be proud of me, and I am grateful for the spirit he instilled in me to make my mark on the world around me.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
As of now, the road has been relatively smooth. I think the biggest obstacle for me is finding the time in the day to sit down and create. Between a full-time job as a school nurse and two children, time is a precious commodity. Most of my beadwork gets done between the hours of 7:30 and 10:00 p.m. I do sometimes wonder what it would be like if time were not an issue and I had hours in a day to grow and expand. But for now, this works for me and my family. It provides me with a chance to wind down at the end of the day and gives me a creative outlet.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My business started with beaded necklaces, but I’ve branched out to include current trends like charm necklaces and scarf necklaces as well. I also take many custom orders where people share their ideas of what they envision, and I help bring them to life. I’m really proud of everything I’ve created so far, and my favorite pieces are often the ones that come together without a plan in mind. It’s been so fun to see how my style has evolved, and I’m excited about what’s to come. Most of my necklaces feature two small gold beads near the clasp, which in my mind has become a bit of a signature touch.

What are your plans for the future?
I am really excited about the future of Beads by Baker. I’m proud of the growth I’ve achieved in just over a year of creating, and my goal is to continue building on this for years to come. I envision myself keeping up with trends while also staying true to the styles I personally love to wear. I’m especially excited to be participating in The Lovett School’s Art Show and Sale in November, as well as Trinity School’s Spotlight on Art event in January.
