Check Out Anthony Woods’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Woods.

Hi Anthony, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The first part of my music journey was about four years ago when my grandmother passed away. At this time, I didn’t really have anyone to go to about anything I was feeling or wanting to say. So this began my music career when I wrote my first project all about her, what I was going through, and what I was feeling; especially mentally. As time went on, I gained a great friendship with someone who changed my whole approach to music and my flow. Over time, I’ve gotten better and progressed. I started to still expose my feelings and heartbreaks through my music. I knew this was a great way for me to connect with my listeners because we all are going through something or some sort of pain but we never speak about it. So I started to make music that was relatable to the listeners. With this grind and also taking a true year off to live life, experience the ups and downs that life brought to me in order to make more music.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road but that’s part of the process. I struggled with my own personal self and demons a lot of the way. Even struggled with staying motivated to continue with music and other things as well. But without the struggles, greatness cannot rise up.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
So I am alas a personal trainer and basketball coach/trainer. I’m very known for being a trainer and a basketball player/coach. I influence so many lives, especially kid’s lives that it’s become something I am very proud of. Especially when they tell me they listen to my music and how they liked it and etc., what sets me apart from others is my ability to open up myself and my heart thru my music. Whether it’s pain, love, doubt, or success, I am more than ok with opening that side up to the listeners so they know that they are not the only ones going thru it or feeling it and that I’m here for them.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I learned on this journey, I would say is having faith when things seem to crumble. A lot of times, God talks to us when we are crumbling to give us our greatest blessing, but we have to learn to have that faith. Especially in the music career where you may not be heard all the time, you have to keep pushing and having that faith
