Check Out Ashley Webb’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Webb.

Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started out in my youth. I was about eight years old when I started doing hair and about 16 when I started doing makeup. As a child and teen, I wasn’t consistent but I’ve always loved to do it. When I reached my 20’s, I started to take it more seriously so I started back working from my home doing hair and makeup. I am currently in a shop now and another artist accepted me in due to everything that I offered and I was afraid at first but I stepped out on faith and I’m feeling good about the choice I made.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Things haven’t always been easy. My biggest struggle came mentally after the death of my dad. Sometimes I would be motivated other times I would shut down and not want to do anything which caused me to slow down my business which caused my clients to have to go to others. I came out with prayer and dedicating my time to positive things. Knowing where my dad wanted me to be and staying positive has pushed me to continue on with my dreams.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in braids, makeup, and press-on nails. I’m known for “the girl who does everything” lol. I’m most proud of the progress I have made in my work and the genuine clients I have made over the years. What sets me apart from others is my love for what I do, the reactions I get before people leave my chair. Making others feel beautiful makes me feel good inside knowing that I was able to be a part of their happiness.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was a very quiet girl but a lot of people were drawn to me. I loved cosmetic things and I was always doing something. Whether it was my hair, eyebrows, or nails I was always doing something. I was very goal oriented for a child.
