Today we’d like to introduce you to Atticus Roness.
Hi Atticus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve been singing my whole life, did theatre to start, learned guitar shortly after and began playing professionally at around age 16. Then joined by my brother and childhood friend formed my first band, AQUASHADE. That lasted in various formations until the pandemic. My brother and I then split off to form a more vintage rock outfit, The Corduroy Blue. This lasted 3 years, and then as fate would have it, I began my solo career under my name, Atticus Roness, about a year ago. My debut album ‘Square One’ is out everywhere now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, many bumps and bruises along the way. Financial, personal & musical obstacles all play a part, but it’s what I love, so I’ll fight for it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a songwriter firstly, all else serves the song. So if that means guitar, I’ll play guitar, if that means piano, then piano it is. If that means finding someone more talented than me to do it, so be it. It’s about the song. Maybe I’m unique in that way
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Honestly the only thing I can recommend (and can’t recommend it enough) is Rick Rubin’s new book “The Creative Act: A Way Of Being”
