Today we’d like to introduce you to Austin Quinn.
Hi Austin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My name is Austin Quinn otherwise known as “Breeze” and for as long as I could remember, being an artist is what I was chosen to do regardless of me being conscious of it or not. I’ve always been so fascinated with the beauty of this world, its people & the art behind storytelling. At the age of 17, I decided to pursue photography/film. My journey officially started while on a trip, I was capturing architecture that I found incredible to the eye when suddenly a person walked into one of my shots. I was absolutely stunned to find that this usual unfortunate situation would change my life forever. It never would have occurred to me to get other humans involved in the creation of my art, I mean I really felt like I invited bread or something. Now at 26, that life-changing moment has blessed me with the honor of being a professional artist for ten years. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to create, live & travel all over the world in order to capture the true beauty of existence itself as well as work with some premier publications which include Vogue, ESSENCE, WWD, Dazed Magazine, MILK, etc…
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is smooth in a life that is ever-changing but you find ways to create more peaceful & beautiful moments with the knowledge from your past experiences, it all has to start from within.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I claim the title of a renaissance man as I don’t like to limit the divine & what I’m able to create. Currently, my main focus is photography, film, sculpture work & philanthropy. With each piece, I create I seek to provoke the thoughts & feelings of my viewers. Together with grace & vision, we are guided into a portal that leads to other worlds. Worlds we have yet to see or don’t see enough of. I’m not really concerned with what others are doing as I’m just trying to continue to be the best being I can be in hopes that that’s enough to inspire a world to move more in love.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned thus far is acceptance. We as people are simply not in control of most things/other people. Eventually, you have to surrender to the unknown while holding onto your heart’s desires in hopes that someday the two will align.
