Today we’d like to introduce you to Blake Laster.
Hi Blake, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Blake Laster a GA native born and raised. My goal was to build an outlet for my creative ideas and my love of screen tees and the effect they have on our culture today. I liked some of the existing concepts. However, I wanted to give them my own spin. This allowed me to start an online brand that also does custom printing to help create and brand other businesses around me by assisting with everything from marketing graphics to new business logos.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As with any new business, there are always growing pains. Covid slowed business to almost nothing and having equipment and overhead not being used created it s own obstacles. So by creating a better digital presence and networking with fellow black-owned businesses I was able to expand to new clients and stay open in a climate where it was hard for smaller businesses to survive.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in creating unique designs around everyday life in our culture. I am extremely proud to be able to continue and grow with businesses and fellow entrepreneurs, keeping an open mind, and learning everyday. Creating graphics to help promote everything from personal brands to events and websites.
What makes you happy?
It makes me happy to bring a new design or thought to life and see the reactions it brings when received or worn. How I continue to be inspired by our diverse culture and different walks of life and people I interact with and meet on a daily basis. These experiences always spark new ideas or concepts that help me create and keep things very interesting.
