Check Out Bri Butler’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bri Butler.

Hi Bri, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My very first solo was at seven years old during a Christmas program at church. I sang “Joy To The World”. From there, I was the girl singing at school programs, in the high school chorus and placing in state competitions, or performing and winning at the Boys & Girls Club talent shows. I even used to record myself in my mama’s living room.. using computers and radios, whatever I could find just to get my voice out there.

In my early twenties, I started writing songs and exploring music more seriously. At that time, it was mostly secular. I even opened up for Roscoe Dash at GSU and shot a couple of music videos to my original music. But over time, God started shifting my heart. He reminded me that my gift wasn’t just for expression, but for purpose. That realization brought me back to what I’d always known deep down, worship was home. I’ve traveled singing BGVs for a couple gospel artist in FL and sang consistently at my church since 2014.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! My road has had a lot of bumps and detours. I had a baby two weeks before my 16th birthday, so while my friends were heading off to college, I was learning how to be a mom. For a long time, I carried a lot of shame and felt like I had something to prove.. that I wasn’t just another statistic.

I’ve been a single mom living in low-income housing, partying, in and out of unsafe relationships, and trying to fill voids in all the wrong ways. But deep down, I always knew I was different — that life wasn’t really for me, even when I was in the middle of it. Between 2012 and 2014, things really came crashing down from bad decisions and a broken heart.

That’s when the Lord spoke to me so clearly: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” From that moment, I stopped chasing love, validation, and second chances at the life I thought I missed out on. I surrendered completely and let Jesus direct my steps.

Since then, everything has changed. The more I’ve learned about Him, the more I’ve discovered who I really am. Now, my focus is simply to live out His will for my life in peace, purpose, and contentment.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m Bri Butler… a mom, entrepreneur, worship leader, recording artist, and songwriter with a heart to create moments that remind people of the nearness and sovereignty of God. My music blends raw worship with real-life honesty, inviting listeners to surrender, heal, and trust His perfect will even when it’s hard to understand.

I specialize in leading people into genuine encounters with God through both live worship and original music. Whether it’s on stage, in the studio, or in a small room of believers, my focus is always the same: to make space for His presence and help people see that His will truly is perfect.

I’m most proud of the obedience behind my music — not just the songs themselves, but the faith it’s taken to write and release them. My latest single, Perfect Will, came from a season of surrender and became a personal reminder that faith isn’t about control, it’s about trust.

Beyond music, I’m also proud of being an entrepreneur — building BriAdvised, my financial consulting brand — completing my accounting degree, and have raised a successful young man. Those parts of my life remind me that God doesn’t waste anything; every experience, every skill, and every role can bring Him glory when it’s surrendered to Him.

What sets me apart is my transparency and the way I merge theology, soul, and sincerity. I don’t just sing to people, I sing with them. My goal is never performance; it’s presence. Every lyric, every note, every moment points back to Jesus.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Look for someone who’s already succeeded in what you want to do. Not just in results, but in character and consistency. When you find that person, don’t make them chase you down. Pursue the relationship. Stay consistent. Show that you value their time and what they pour into you by actually walking out the advice they give.

For me, mentorship has worked best when I stayed committed to the process, not just looking for quick results or validation, but being willing to grow, be corrected, and stay teachable. The right mentor doesn’t just help you reach your goals; they help shape the kind of person you become along the way.
