Check Out Bria Copeland’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bria Copeland.

Bria, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I was pushed by my teachers and peers to go to college. I wasn’t to sure about that because I could never figure out what I wanted to major in. I remember taking an SAT test and didn’t do too well.

One day, A light bulb just went off about hair. I did hair daily starting with myself at 12 years of age. I grew a passion for hair as I gotten better and better. I went to cosmetology school immediately after high school and I finish the course plus pass my state board exams! I was SUPER PROUD.

In 2014, I became pregnant with my son. Tragically, he passed away on 2015. My world just SHIFTED! I remember throwing all of my hair equipment and products in the trash because I know longer cared about life at the point. The very thing that I am glad that I did not do was let my cosmetology license go.

In the meantime, I pursued Emt school and I finished the program and passed my board exams. I was an emt for 2 years and I came back to doing hair full time. This has been a journey for me from gaining clientele from scratch, losing my son, learning this business , while trying to perfect my craft. I am grateful today! I am happy and passionate about my career and life!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. The road was hard. Working and going to school was alot. When needing help from my peers in hair school, that didn’t always happen or no one wanted to share techniques.

Losing my son definitely put a fault on my career at one point.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Georgia. I specialize in hair and scalp care plus styling. I am proud of beating the odds daily!

What sets me apart from others is my passion for hair, my personality, my drive, and my reliability and professionalism.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk taking can be good or it can hurt you in the end. It’s all about decision making, proper planning, and thinking things through.
