Today we’d like to introduce you to Brionna Anderson.
Hi Brionna, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m originally from Baltimore City and have been passionate about doing hair since middle school. Making women feel beautiful has always come naturally to me, and growing up in a close-knit city like Baltimore made it easy to build a loyal clientele. Word of mouth and community support helped me thrive, but at some point, I realized I had outgrown my comfort zone—I wanted more for myself and my craft.
During the pandemic, I felt it was time for a major change. On a random Monday, I drove to Atlanta just to get a feel for the city. Without knowing much or having any connections there, I took a leap of faith and started applying for apartments that same day. Three days after returning home, I got a call that I was approved for a place—and I knew that was my sign. I packed up everything and made the move.
The transition wasn’t easy. I didn’t know anyone and had to start completely from scratch. To get my name out, I started working in the nightlife scene, promoting my business and networking. Once I realized how vibrant Atlanta’s party culture was, I began styling hair for bottle girls and influencers I met. That opened so many doors for me, and referrals started flowing in. Since then, I’ve been able to grow my brand and client base in a new city, proving to myself that I could thrive outside of what I was used to. It’s been a wild ride—but I wouldn’t change a thing.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth. Moving to a new city where I didn’t know anyone was one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever faced. In the beginning, it was extremely tough building a new client base from scratch while also adjusting to a different environment and lifestyle. There were times I questioned if I made the right decision, especially when money was tight and I didn’t have a strong support system around me. I had to work multiple jobs, including nightlife gigs, just to stay afloat while still chasing my dream. But every setback pushed me to be more resourceful, more confident, and more committed to making it work. I’ve learned how to bet on myself—and win—even when things felt uncertain.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a hairstylist and creative based in Atlanta, specializing in sleek, polished styles that highlight natural beauty while giving a bold, confident look (sew-ins, ponytails wigs & natural hair care). I’m known for my attention to detail, consistency, and the calming experience I provide my clients. My work is more than just hair—it’s about helping women feel empowered and elevated every time they leave my chair. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with clients, understand their vision, and bring it to life with precision and style. I’m most proud of the fact that I was able to start over in a new city, build my brand from the ground up, and stay true to my aesthetic and values while doing it.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting at the dinner table every Friday night with my mom and sister to do arts and crafts. After dinner, my mom would create this little safe space where we could talk about our week, our dreams, and what we wanted to become. She always gave us the floor to speak freely—even as kids—encouraging us to express how we felt and what we would do differently as we grew older. No matter how wild or unrealistic our answers were, she always listened with love and offered advice on how to navigate life. That quality time meant everything to me, and it still does. It taught me the power of listening, imagination, and having a voice.
