Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Rosser.
Brittany, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey with being a protective stylist kicked off when I had to learn how to do my own hair. I grew up around hair stylists so this came pretty naturally to me. I was in high school when I started doing my own hair, ultimately because getting my hair done every month was not in my mother’s budget. I then started doing my family’s hair, then my friends, then their family’s, and so on and so forth. My journey throughout college opened the doors for me to start taking my business seriously. And it’s been nothing but growth since then.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a protective stylist can definitely challenging if you aren’t willing to be open to corrections. One of the biggest aspects in this field is being a people person. Some days are harder than others. Some people are nicer than others. But knowing yourself and your worth is what will keep you focused. A queen’s hair is super important, so I put forward my best effort to present that with each and every client.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a stylist and I specialize in protective styles. I would say that I’m known mostly for my focus of the integrity of each of my client’s hair. I take the time to make sure all of their questions are answered before I meet them in person and after they leave their appointment. I am most proud of my continuous growth. I have a few things in the works right now that will be catered towards my clients and I’m super excited to see their reactions! What sets me aside from others is my focus. While I do love the perks of being a protective stylist, I absolutely love the connections I make with my clients. I have gained lifelong friendships from this. I love knowing that I am the person that someone can look forward to seeing and even brightening up their spirits. The smiles and happiness that I provide to my clients is worth more than any service I can provide.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I like the diversity of our city! It’s so many options to choose from whether it’s just chilling at a nice rooftop bar or hitting the scene for a night out with your crew. I dislike the traffic, lol. But that’s to be expected when living in a great city like this.
