Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryson Manzy.
Hi Bryson, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my journey with photography back in 2016. My little brother was actually the person to get me interested in cameras. That same year, I was able to work at Walmart in their photo department, and that opportunity taught me a lot while obtaining my degree. Throughout these past six years, my love for still art has grown tremendously, and I have been able to accomplish so many goals. I’m blessed to capture anywhere from 20 to 30 weddings in a year and also work throughout the week with wonderful people that have the same love for art as myself.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This journey hasn’t been easy. With a profession such as photography, there have been challenging opportunities that I’ve managed to get through. As a person who provides a service, I focus my job on being “people first.” This mindset allows me to construct relationships both personal and professional with my clientele. Struggles do happen, but you have to continue to push through to the goal(s) you have created. In addition to being a photographer, I also have to balance my everyday job of being an elementary school teacher. By balancing both professions, my time free can sometimes be limited, but the joy I have for making people smile in both jobs truly brings a sense of pride to my life.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in portrait photography. Specifically, fashion, beauty, and weddings. My proudest accomplishment would have to be the day I was able to increase my clientele and branch out into other places like Florida, Texas and New York. Everyday isn’t like this, and I like that. I love what photography has brought to my life, but what I like most is the personal relationships I build with the people I meet through what I do.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be with my dad. Growing up, I always wanted to make my dad proud of me. My biggest fear was telling him that I wasn’t interested in playing football and more into arts. After telling him, the joy of acceptance on his face reassured me that I really had an amazing dad. My family has always supported everything I have done. Although my father is no longer with me, I strive to incorporate all of his practices daily.
