Today we’d like to introduce you to Cherie Beverly.
Hi Cherie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started in my kitchen one day in 2016. It felt as if something was missing within me, I don’t know what made me think of candles. My first batch was not appealing to the eye, but the aroma was amazing. I told my neighbor that I made some candles, gave her one just to see what she thought and she absolutely loved them… she asked for more. I never looked back after that. Candles are my happy place, what’s not to like about candles? It has brought me through some of the toughest times in my life. I am a kid in a “Candle Store” when ordering supplies. I dove into learning to create experiences for people all over the world. It is extraordinary what a candle or wax melt can do when calming your spirit. It’s like pressing a reset button. My Journey is far from over, I have just “dipped my toes in the water” and I am loving the temperature. I enjoy myself so much that will literally look up and it’s 5am, thinking it was just 10pm a few minutes ago. I have always had a passion for owning my business as a little girl, not quite sure what it would be, but there has been a fire burning. They say hindsight is 20/20, I am a testament that it is. I sit back and reflect on the people that poured into that bright-eyed girl from Mobile, AL. I have two son’s watching me, I want to instill and pass down a wealth of knowledge producing two great men. I have friends that are very supportive. My friend is a realtor, she and her husband loved my candles. She began purchasing candles to be a part of her closing gifts. One day, we were at her house and she said, “I have to show you something”… I was presented with a text from a client who just purchased a house from her. Her Client stated in the text that she is Obsessed with her candle, I believed my heart skipped a beat! We continue to enjoy reviews, such as the one mentioned, every time we ship and deliver orders.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Oh I wish, but then again would I be the person who the universe needed me to be for this assignment? I take every curb, detour sign, traffic jam and nail in the tire with gratitude for EVERY part of my journey. I have always heard of a saying, “I wouldn’t change a thing”. I know what that means now, the more you educate yourself on life the less you worry about what comes your way. My thought process is how will I position myself to come out on the other side. Definitely the mistakes of learning as you go, messing up batches in the beginning and thinking that everyone I knew was going to support my vision. I had to learn it’s not their vision, but it is MINES!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are SC Candle Company located in North GA and our assignment is to create experiences by offering affordable Luxury! We place care into every hand-poured Candle and Wax Melt. The Expansion will take place in the near future by providing exposure without a brand ambassador present. We are preparing a new launch to create lifestyle in 2022. I am most proud of SC Candle Company team and its supporters! We are working day after day to ensure your experience with us is like no other you have had before. It’s our service that sets us apart, we are not here to sell you anything. We are trusted with a tremendous amount of blessings that is placed in vessels so that you may enjoy them in the comfort of your space. Our affordable Luxury continues to collect rave reviews time after time. The Collections are a favorite among patrons.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I have so many favorite moments from my childhood. My grandmother curling my hair with her Marcel iron that she would put directly on the stovetop Easter Morning and every Sunday Morning. We didn’t have much, but I remember my mother taking me to Godfather’s pizza to get a personal pan pizza after leaving the arcade on most weekends, she cooked a home-cooked meal throughout the week. Visiting my cousins in the French Quarters (Toulminville), spending the night with my cousins on Magee St. It’s the little things for me, family is so important.
