Check Out Christa Vinson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christa Vinson.

Hi Christa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised by my grandparents. I was always intrigued by real estate. I can remember as a child riding through neighborhoods and looking at the different home designs and saying which one was going to be my house. I also enjoyed going to open houses just to see what the inside looked like to get interior design ideas. At that point, I wasn’t sure what my real estate path would look like but I knew I would have my hands in it.

Initially, I started out with purchasing rental properties at the county tax sale. I can remember the day I secured my first one. I was so excited and eager to get started on this new journey. I wanted to learn as much as I could about the business because this was new territory for me. The property I purchased had tenants living there but the home was in pretty bad condition. They moved out so that I could make the appropriate renovations to bring the home up to my standards of living. With the help of my friends, we demolished the home ourselves to cut cost and I hired different contractors to complete the work. Surprisingly, it went well and I didn’t face too many challenges. After the renovations were complete, I rented the property to a family. That is when I realized I had found my niche. There was just something about receiving money every month without having to do any work that just warmed my heart. All the income I received up to that point, always came from some sort of act on my part. I refer to my rental property income as my mailbox money. It just shows up every month.

Eventually, I partnered with someone and we acquired more properties together. We would either purchase the property for the purpose of leasing it to a renter (“buy & hold”) or purchase the property for the purpose or rehabbing and selling it (“flipping”). During that time, I noticed the money we were leaving on the table by using a real estate agent to purchase and then resale the properties. I decided to earn my real estate license so that I could be on both sides of the deal and keep the money in-house. Once I became licensed, I joined a brokerage and began working directly with clients. I found joy and satisfaction with helping my clients find their dream home. I am grateful when someone chooses me to be a part of their home journey — whether to sell a home or assist with purchasing one. I know that I am making a positive impact in peoples’ lives and assisting them with creating generational wealth for their families. Once it’s all said and done, my clients become my friends.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road? Absolutely not. There have definitely been some struggles along the way personally and professionally. In life, there will always be challenges. I use them as opportunities for me to acknowledge and embrace them so that I can overcome it. I’ve learned to operate in a growth mindset and value the process over the end result. I understand that there are so many lessons during the process and learning fast is different than learning well. In real estate, there’s no one-size-fits-all model. You never know what curveball you’ll be thrown. What works for one client may not work for the other. I focus on being available, building organic relationships, setting goals for myself and my clients, and becoming an expert in the past and current market.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I consider myself a serial entrepreneur. I’m the owner and co-owner of a few businesses. Reussi Group LLC is my real estate company. I own a logistics company, MNJ Logistics LLC, and I’m the co-owner of a commercial cleaning company, Reussi Group Cleaning LLC.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Prior to relocating here, my friends and I would come to Atlanta to hang out. I love the culture here. There are so many amazing restaurants and small businesses can really thrive here. It’s also a great place to build your life and raise your children.
