Check Out Crystal Moungle’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Moungle.

Hi Crystal, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been writing poetry and short stories since I was about 12 years old it started as a hobby and developed into my passion. I’ve always loved writing whether it was an article, poetry, or even making up stories. In 2021 I released my first poetry book Speak Up. My debut book focused heavily on my own experience growing up, being introverted and shy made me feel like I couldn’t use my honest, genuine voice. But in my debut book, I speak on the things that matter to me most like family, love, and my journey to healing myself. As of today, I have published a second poetry collection titled What I Meant to Say. I am working on growing my brand and letting the world into my complicated world of poetry and creating unique stories that give an honest look at Black culture.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being an introvert and an entrepreneur don’t really go together and for good reason. I am constantly working towards stepping out of my shell and showing readers the value in my work. One of the hardest challenges I’ve encountered is sharing more of myself to people that don’t know me. But what sharing my story has allowed me to do is display my genuine love for what I do and what I write. Being an author and publishing a book takes work but I love what I do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a creative writer specializing in poetry and short stories. I am known for my volumes of poetry Speak Up and What I Meant to Say. As my career grows, I can’t wait to expand my writing to other areas like fiction and motivational writing. I am most proud of my resilience to create, I love pushing myself to see what I can write and find value in making readers step into my world. What sets me apart from other authors is that I have a unique perspective on how I view the world and I incorporate that into any style of my writing.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as one’s ability to learn from their mistakes and openness to gain a new perspective. Success is not defined by one single goal it’s defined by the ability to bounce back.
