Check Out Damii ’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Damii .

Damii

Hi Damii, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
So I’ve been making content since about 11 years old. I’ve always had a passion and desire for doing anything with the camera, whether it be pictures, cinematic videos, or just getting in front of the camera and being funny.

But not only with that, I’ve always found myself being a leader. Growing up in school, I was always a leader of the pack when it comes to my friend groups and playing on the team sports. Majority of the time I was always a captain. Ialways led team huddles and I gave pep talks to the team

throughout my journey. I found myself either doing videos or playing sports and as the years went on and on. By the time I became a senior in high school I was doing my best to balance making videos and playing sports at the same time

When I got to college I found myself leaning towards making content, But my heart is still in the game of basketball 2020. It was my freshman year in college and that’s when COVID happened. And when COVID happened, it completely shifted my life, as well did it for others.

In 2020, I went full in, I’m making content, and I knew what I wanted to do.

But at this point i’m still in school,

and in 2021, I entered a physical therapy program. And it was a battle for me because it wasn’t really something I was passionate about. It was just something that I would do if I was just taking the academic journey. My heart was in making content and being creative.

It was a program that if you get underneath 75% they take you out of the program. I had to do a lot of studying for tests almost every week and I didn’t have enough time to be making content. I was torn at this because this is something I really wanted to do and I didn’t want an opportunity to slip away from me because at this point I built something on social media, but I’m not where I want to be at.

So during this time, I had a big back and forth In my brain. I’m thinking about what I should do. So, I did my best to manage both and eventually,

I moved back to Georgia from the school I was attending. When I moved back to Georgia, I was doing school online, getting my health science degree, and working a job while still pursuing content.

Fast forward to 2022, I started grinding on my new YouTube channel Damii, I told myself, this is the year that I need to really go hard on YouTube. I just finished school and got my degree. I’m in the place I want to be. I shouldn’t have any distractions.

Just YouTube and working a job, & my clothing brand. So, 2022 wa when it all really started.

I put in a lot of work that year.

It was a very emotional time because I really just wanted to make it. I ended the year with about 30, 000 subscribers, but I knew I was meant for this.

I started posting clips of myself talking to a camera, motivating others that has gone viral all over the internet. The thing about that is. I’m really talking to myself in those videos. I’m a very tough critic of myself and I hold myself accountable a lot. I look at myself in the mirror and I tell myself what I gotta do to be better. And I started having these conversations with myself and I just recorded them and posted them online.

So at this point, I’m being known for two different things. I’m known for motivating people, but I’m also known for being an entertaining, fun guy. Which is perfect because that’s my exact personality. I’m a fun, playful person, but I know when it’s time to be serious.

At the end of 2022, I started to really build a name for myself a little bit and 2023 comes and I take it to a different level. I’m going all over the internet for all my videos and people are starting to realize. In 2023 I hit a 100k+ subscribers,
accumulated millions and millions of views online.

I put in a lot of work and I was doing all this while working, 2024. Ive took things to a whole different level. I’ve gotten smarter with the game. I understand how to play it better. I’ve tripled my amount of subscribers on YouTube.

I’m still impacting the world with my voice and talent while doing it all with integrity, which means a lot to me.

My whole goal now is just to take it to a whole nother level and have my impact reach many households.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Obstacles and challenges were definitely doing school, working a job, and trying to pursue this.

Also, the mental battle of not letting your family down. You want to make your family proud and you want to be able to do so much for them. And you just hope that you’re making the right choices.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a clothing brand owner, Speaker, Entertainer & Content creator. I believe my mentality towards my work and lens i look at everything separates me from others.
