Hi Danielle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I discovered my interest in hair at the young age of 3. By the time I was 6 years old I was placing extensions in my doll baby hair. Fast forward to middle school I began doing my own hair, It was just me and my mom and we didn’t have extra money for salons. My mom did my hair but of course I wanted to experiment myself. High school came and I had moved on to styling my family and friends hair for free or whatever they could give me. While in school I went to Heyward Cosmetology program then went to Virginia College for Cosmetology after graduating high school. I got pregnant with my first child and had to withdraw but I never gave up. I went and obtained my braiders license. I started growing my clientele and worked from my home salon. I started an online website in 2025 and I am currently in the process of relaunching my new bundle sets that will come with a custom manifesting bonnet, durag, or loc cap, my branded in house growth oil, eyemask or socks, and free gifts in every package. I also still offer natural hair braiding services as well. So right now Im in elevation mode.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It would not be life without struggles. The biggest struggle I have right now is staying consistent, persevering, and not giving up.

I am the founder of Truloves Natural Beauty, where I merge natural hair care with spirituality and mental wellness. I specialize in educating and styling all Afro-textured hair (1a-4c) while also providing niche merchant services for spiritual businesses. I am known for my holistic approach—caring for the spirit just as much as the hair. I am most proud of building this brand from the ground up while actively homeschooling my five children. Creating a legacy through my educational resources—like my guides on starting braiding businesses—while navigating life’s challenges to empower my community is my greatest accomplishment. I bridge the gap between ancient roots and the future. What truly sets me apart is my use of AI technology in my marketing and ads, 3D avatars in my branding, focus on ritual and lifestyle rather than just product usage, custom hair accessories catering to the mind, spirit, and hair. I am pioneering a space where the warmth of a spiritual, natural hair community meets the innovation of modern tech.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am a perfectionist and I am hardest on myself. If Im not satisfied I wont be happy until I get up and fix it or at least try to my best ability.
