Check Out David Parker’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Parker.

Hi David, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey started as a Union Electrician right out of high school in 1991. Years later my passion for home remodeling was making its way to the forefront of my career. I eventually left the electrical field to start my Home Improvement business in 2005. I have done everything from small service calls to complete home renovations including additions and so much more. Today my business is thriving with many projects ahead and many satisfied customers who constantly keep in touch and readily refer me to their friends and family.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has had its bumps and bruises along the way. The 2008 market crash sent me back into the workforce as an electrician. Since then my only headaches come from very difficult clients. You can’t please everyone, but I learned from my mistakes and never take any situation for granted.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve always been very patient and accommodating to my clients. Sometimes to my detriment, but never rushing the process and making sure the remodeling experience is as easy as possible. I go outta my way to see that the project no matter what size gets the proper amount of time and attention. Proper planning is key. My specialty has been interior work no matter if it’s kitchen, bathroom, basements, trim moldings, flooring, electrical and plumbing. My 20 + years in construction and many years of experience and so many completed projects has given me the edge over the rest. I’m proud to bring upscale renovations to the average homeowner.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson learned on this journey is communication. Never assume your client understands what you’re doing, the process and the expectation level. It is very important to have pre-construction meetings, many progress meetings during the project no matter how insignificant… I want the client to fully understand what I’m doing and why.
