Today we’d like to introduce you to DeMarco 275.
Hi DeMarco, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am from Dayton Ohio, graduated from Grambling State University and fell upon an opportunity to follow my dream as a rap artist with my partner with Tall Entertainment. We traveled the country, was on BET, major magazines etc. After our group disbanded I went solo, then moved here to Atlanta GA in 2013. I continued to pursue music, my passion, more for therapy, and started a TV show/Podcast called Bars & Beyond with my co-host Courtney Layette and business partner Sylvester Darnell. Then I started a trucking company called Cargo Xpress USA in 2021. This moved me into the entrepreneurial space.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have had a lot of struggles, coming from graduating from college, pursuing music then getting into the streets. I was able to move from Ohio to Georgia and turn things around.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the most versatile artist. I am a student of hip-hop, boom bap, trap, commercial radio whatever lane I create hits.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My advice is that in this climate of music, have a story to go along with your music. Talent is no longer a factor, everyone is an artist. You must have something to go with the talent that pulls people in.
