Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Korir.
Hi Diana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For nearly nine years, I worked as a dispatcher at a small courier company. By 2012, with two young children under the age of seven, I knew deep inside: this wasn’t the future I had imagined for myself. My career had stalled, and my spirit was restless; the only way forward was to start over and pursue a degree. One class at a time, and after four years of perseverance, I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2016 with a degree in Communications, majoring in Public Relations.
Adrienne Brown, founder of Adrienne J Brown Agency, took a chance on me as an intern. Though all she wanted to do was Public Relations, she saw something greater in me and instead hired me as a Digital and Social Media Strategist, a shift that completely changed the trajectory of my life.
After almost two years, I was back searching for a position, and I found part-time admin work with a WordPress designer, Valerie Hudgins, whose entrepreneurial spirit sparked a new curiosity: what if I created my own opportunities?
One day, after 15 minutes of searching online for how to register a company in Georgia, Rannd Consultants was born. I later taught myself how to build websites, and my first client, Dr. Mary Muranja, gave me the chance to prove what I could do. What started as survival became purpose.
Today, as the founder of Rannd Consultants, a Greater Atlanta–based digital marketing firm, we partner with small business owners and professionals to transform startups into recognizable brands. Guided by her philosophy, “Do it excellently or not at all,” we help businesses master systems through website design, social media management, and brand marketing.
But it extends well beyond business. For the last five years, I have been an integral part of the “I Am Africa Mental Spa Weekend” in Atlanta and Nairobi, serving as both event coordinator and co-host. This annual experience has become a life-changing space for women of African descent seeking transformation in mind, body, and spirit.
I also pour into my community, serving at Elim Victory Church as a Praise & Worship Leader, Service Coordinator, and Sunday School teacher. My servant leadership gift has also extended to the broader community, as evidenced by my role as an Emcee. I have hosted events such as the African Girl Hope Foundation Gala, the Kenyan Nurses in Diaspora Gala, and the Legetyo Queens Gala, and been recognized with the 2022 Atlanta Mashujaa Community Service Excellence Award.
My husband, Ricky, and I are proud parents to our two daughters, Nicole and Natalie, who attend the University of Georgia and Augusta University, respectively. And when I’m not leading, serving, or strategizing, I co-host the 2 Kalee Chics Podcast with Jemutai Serem, as well as hosting the M&D 1 Media show with Molo Wilson of New Dawn Live Productions, bringing candid conversations about culture, community, and career, always with a dose of joy and laughter.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all… it hasn’t been a smooth road.
My journey is characterized by resilience, reinvention, and faith, rather than ease. Deciding to return to school while raising two young daughters who needed their mom’s presence for all their activities was challenging. Leaving a job I had held for nearly a decade, without knowing what the future held, was one of the most frightening choices I’ve ever made. I had never quit a job before. I was juggling multiple responsibilities while trying to teach my daughters the value of working hard and understanding that in life, you will face hard challenges, but you just can’t give up.
Even after reaching that milestone, the journey didn’t immediately become easier. Following graduation, I believed that completing my studies would lead to a high-paying job right away, but instead, I found myself back in the job market, facing uncertainty until I secured part-time work.
Starting Rannd Consultants wasn’t about knowing everything from the start. I realize now it was about the courage I had to summon from within. I stepped out of my comfort zone, believed what others saw in me, and turned what I thought was a hobby, a favor I was doing for others, into a business. Creating my first client’s website opened opportunities I never expected.
Balancing marriage and motherhood, often juggling multiple roles simultaneously, has been challenging. I have spent many years volunteering in school to stay involved in my children’s lives, missed weekends to keep up with client work, and endured sleepless nights building Rannd Consultants from the ground up.
My story is proof that the road to finding purpose is seldom straightforward, often involving detours, resets, and leaps of faith. However, these challenges have shaped me into the servant leader and advocate of excellence I am now.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in helping small businesses and professionals simplify their systems, build strong brands, and grow with confidence. From professional logo design to responsive websites, engaging social media campaigns, and email marketing that converts, I work to provide end-to-end digital solutions tailored to each client’s vision.
What sets me apart is my philosophy of excellence: “Do it excellently or not at all.” I don’t just deliver a product; I walk alongside my clients as partners in their journey. For many small business owners, marketing feels overwhelming, sometimes even paralyzing. My role is to be that steady support system, helping them avoid burnout, overcome feelings of inadequacy, and transform their ideas into thriving brands. The most rewarding part of my work is witnessing the spark in a client’s eyes when they see their concept come to life and realize they’ve built something from scratch that is both beautiful and sustainable.
I’m especially proud that Rannd Consultants has had the opportunity to shape digital campaigns and creative deliverables for events and organizations across the globe. From designing flyers, social media graphics, and billboards for gatherings like Azusa: The Nairobi Outpouring and the 2025 Azusa Lagos Camp Meeting, to the Legetyo Queens US Chapter Launch in Dallas, and supporting initiatives like Dr. Edward Karanja and Emily Korir OAM’s book launches as well as Samar Healthcare’s Annual Muscle Up Your Mental Health Forum, our fingerprints are on projects that change lives and uplift communities.
Beyond business, I’m also known in the community as an Emcee who brings both energy and professionalism to events. Whether weddings, baby showers, galas, or corporate celebrations, what seemingly started as a hobby and filling a role in church during service has become a joyful extension of who I am: a woman thriving in a space often dominated by men, helping people celebrate milestones with excellence and authenticity.
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t believe in luck or coincidence. For me, it has always been about faith, sometimes as small as a mustard seed, and the belief that what you sow, you will reap. I have had to learn how to set intention for everything I do. I put prayer behind everything I do, no matter how small the task, and I lean on wisdom and counsel from those who’ve walked the road before me. I’ve never believed that I have to repeat the same hardships or mistakes others went through; instead, I listen, I learn, and I apply those lessons to my own path. Be humble enough to listen and be bold enough to speak.
I also believe in asking for help, asking questions, and surrounding myself with mentors and coaches. Pay attention to the opportunities around me, trust the process, and work for what you want. None of this has been by chance. My faith, my willingness to learn, and my determination to apply excellence have been the foundation stones of both my personal journey and the growth of Rannd Consultants.
