Check Out Diana Lashey’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diana Lashey.

Hi Diana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story is really about growth, transition, and learning how to rebuild my life in a way that feels authentic to me. In 2023, I made a major decision to move from Montgomery, Alabama to Georgia. I wanted a fresh start, more opportunities, and a place where I could evolve into the woman I knew I was meant to become. That move was the beginning of everything — new challenges, new confidence, and new purpose.

In 2024, I became a mother, and that changed my life in the most powerful way. Becoming a full-time single parent pushed me to tap into a level of strength I didn’t even know I had. It made me more focused, more intentional, and more determined to build something meaningful for both me and my daughter.

My journey started long before entrepreneurship or motherhood. Fitness has been a part of my life for over ten years — it’s truly in my DNA. I was a college athlete, so discipline, structure, and pushing myself past my limits became second nature early on. Even after college, I stayed deeply committed to fitness because it was my outlet, my therapy, and the place where I always felt the most grounded.

That’s what led me to continue to push my brand Shaped x Di — my fitness brand built on years of athletic experience, personal transformation, and real knowledge. I’ve created multiple guides and plans for both men and women because I understand fitness from every angle: competitive athletics, everyday discipline, pregnancy, postpartum, and balancing the demands of real life.

Through motherhood, I also realized how important community is, especially for women navigating everything alone. That inspired the Moving Moms Club, a supportive space for mothers who want to feel strong, confident, and connected as they balance their own wellness with raising their children.

Today, I’m a full-time single mom, an entrepreneur, and a woman who has dedicated over a decade to fitness and wellness. My journey is a mixture of athletic training, life transitions, motherhood, resilience, and the desire to help others feel powerful in their own bodies and lives. And honestly, I feel like I’m just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Moving from Montgomery to Georgia meant starting over completely rebuilding my support system, adjusting to a new environment, and figuring out life on my own terms. That transition required a lot of faith, resilience, and growth. Becoming a full-time single mother added another layer of challenges, emotionally and physically. Balancing motherhood while trying to heal, stay disciplined in my fitness journey, and build a stable foundation for my daughter pushed me into a new level of strength.

Entrepreneurship brought its own hurdles. Continuing to push my brand and developing fitness programs took consistency, confidence, and learning how to trust my vision even when things felt uncertain. Building the Moving Moms Club also meant being transparent about my experiences so other women could feel supported and understood. My path has been far from easy, but every challenge has shaped me into a stronger, more grounded woman. I’m grateful for the growth, and I’m proud of the person and mother I’ve become.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Professionally, I come from a social work background. I graduated Cum Laude from THEE Alabama State University with a degree in Social Work and specialized in clinical social work. That foundation taught me how to understand people on a deeper level — their behaviors, emotions, and the challenges that shape their lives. That training influences everything I do, whether I’m supporting students academically or pouring into my wellness communities. My work is rooted in empathy, advocacy, and helping people feel seen.

What I’m most proud of is that everything I build comes from lived experience. What sets me apart is my ability to combine clinical understanding, athletic experience, and raw authenticity to help people transform not just their body, but their mindset and confidence too. My work is personal, purpose-driven, and rooted in real life and that’s what makes it resonate.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I like to call myself a lucky Libra, but I believe even more in divine timing and blessings. I’ve learned that when you move with good intentions, stay disciplined, and treat people well, life has a way of circling those blessings back to you. Even the moments that felt like “bad luck” ended up being protection or redirection. Looking back, situations that didn’t work out were actually blessings in disguise, clearing space for something better to come in. In both my life and my business, I’ve seen over and over that everything aligns exactly when it’s supposed to not a second too early or too late. Divine timing has been my greatest guide.
