Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Baker.

Dominique Baker

Dominique, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
While working in corporate, I wanted to find a creative outlet that fulfilled me more than the daily grind. My husband suggested starting a blog. I was an esthetician in my 20s and loved skincare, beauty and fashion. I was also attending fun events around the city, and my husband felt that people may want to read about my adventures!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like life itself, my social media career hasn’t been entirely smooth, but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, right?

When you put your life out there on social media, it will attract haters. My online career has truly taught me strength, resilience, and confidence.

I lost some friends along the way who were not supportive of my new job as a content creator, but that just showed me who my true supporters are.

Honestly, I have never been happier.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I used to be a licensed aesthetician. I quit that job when I secured a full-time position in the federal government. I wish I never left my job at the spa I was working at. I loved that job and the clients so much.

I quickly learned that corporate life wasn’t for me and started looking for other work that was more fulfilling.

Currently, I specialize in skincare, especially skincare for mature women. I also focus on mental health, fitness, fashion, and being a child-free woman.

I am most proud of the great business I have built all by myself! I have created something that fills my heart, helps other people and that I have been recognized for. When I won a huge award for my content creation, I smiled for weeks!

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
