Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Elyssa Green.
Hi Dr. Green, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Greetings to you all, first it is an honor to be featured in the publication. I am Dr. Elyssa Green. I have 5 beautiful kids and a fabulous husband.
I strive to do better for my family wanting them to be proud, wanting to leave my kids a legacy. Being all that I am, being all that I can be, is a daily goal with me. Knowing that if I fail or fall getting back up or bouncing back is not just an option, but that it’s the only option.
I pride myself on community service, being engaged in the community. When the bubble busted in 2008, I was laid off and had to reinvent myself. I had just finished my Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration. I decided to further my education in hopes to fill the void during the Nation’s massive lay-offs. I finished my Master’s program in 2009, still searching for work and with my love for community, I started a non-profit organization called “Teen Expressions”(TE). This program catered to those kids that sought to grow in the Arts, Culinary, Fashion-Design, Video Film Production, & Creative Arts. It was an amazing and fulfilling journey.… I loved it!
Each year the kids in the program would display their talents at an event TE produced called “I Am Style”. I Am Style showcased all the work and talents of the members within the organization. Alongside community businesses, the TE members would put on an amazing program that assisted with some receiving scholarships based on their designs and presentations at the event each year. I put TE on pause due to finishing up some things in life, but I still stay in contact with the kids that were in the program. Most have graduated high school and/or college and reach out to me every now and then wanting to see if we can kick start TE again. It was FUN!
Once I completed a couple of life goals one becoming “Dr. Elyssa Green”; I revisited starting Teen Expressions up again however, things had changed in our World, Nation, and Communities. I noticed a huge need for solid assistance, direction, & focus for creatives; those that are established, searching or newbies to the industry get exposure and collaborate with businesses and individuals focused on working with rising talent. After pondering over a name, it seemed fitting to establish I Am Style Agency with the mission to provide exposure, guidance, & foundation to aspiring, rising creatives and talent. Currently, the IASA roster is diverse and brilliant.
I Am Style Agency(IASA) born during the pandemic 2020 gives an outlet to creatives to continue to work on their talents. Located in McDonough Ga IASA offers a unique sustaining approach that helps the talent that becomes members of the Agency programs. IASA’s location in McDonough Ga also is a fabulous studio-event space that is ideal for private- fashion shows, parties, business events, girl talks, educational meeting, castings, practices and of course Style Shoots(photoshoots) with our creative staff. Make sure to follow us (@iamstyleagency) and/or reach out to us (iamstyleagency.com) for your next creative project or inspiration.
Establishing IASA and getting it to where it is today has been one filled with challenges, obstacles, disappointments, amazing supportive individuals, friendships, lifetime relationships, supportive businesses and learning lessons. In other words, it didn’t happen overnight or without several errors, failures and upsets. However, staying focused and very prayerful. I’ve been blessed with the awesome creative team that IASA has today.
As I venture into the future of IASA and myself as a woman black-owned business and Individual. I am hoping to pour more into the journeys of those that encounter or have encountered similar challenges within the industry and surrounding health and beauty. Recently shaving my head due to a medical condition called Alopecia. I am proud to have had the courage to make the move to baldness and mental freedom. I’m excited for this next step.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey has not been smooth. Obstacles lurk around every corner it seems. Negotiating those obstacles has to become a skill that is strategic, open-minded, focused, and risky. The number one struggle is making sure talent, creatives and business collaborators are clear in what they are doing and how they are involved or what business we are collaborating on and the part they play.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Yes, I am a Supply Chain-Logistics SME by profession. It’s hard to say what I am known for as I do me and don’t really keep score. My main focus is and has been to work with the creative community.

I am extremely proud of my children who are inspirations and huge supports of my goals. I’m proud to have a family unit that is strong in presence but still loud and annoying in at family gatherings. I am proud of how far IASA has come and where the vision of the Agency is going.
I am set apart by my dedication, focus, communication, determination, openness, and loyalty.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
LOL… It depends on who you ask. I was an athletic fashionista. Art, Music, Theatre have always been my loves. I went to a catholic school growing up and I remember telling one of the nuns when asked the question: “Elyssa what do you want to do when you grow up?” I responded, “Save all the kid artists because they are the future of the world”.. ..Ahh, Funny! I wanted to initially become a professional Psychologist. How I ended up in Supply Chain-Project Management is a story for another time. (((smiles)))
