Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Matt Reuschle PT, DPT.
Hi Dr. Matt, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
GoTherex started in 2019 while I was doing clinical rotations for my Doctor in Physical Therapy from Augusta University. I had been inspired by private practice physical therapists Danna Matta, Aaron LeBauer, and Jarod Carter. They had created fee-for-service clinics outside of the insurance network that allowed them to deliver better patient care, and to improve their work-life balance. I began plans to make my own clinic, reading books, and doing research on how to make this dream a reality.
Upon graduating in 2020, I incorporated GoTherex and began offering services in late 2020 after receiving my licensure. We began focusing on virtual physical therapy and mobile in-home strength training. In 2021, I changed our virtual focus to partnering with gyms and offering post-rehabilitation programs and physical therapy in the gym and in client’s homes.
From 2022 to 2025 we partnered with No Excuses CrossFit in Suwanee offering direct-care physical therapy for gym members as well as the public and concierge in-home therapy and training for clients in Northeast Atlanta. GoTherex became known for it’s personalized approach to solving complex physical challenges with a mix of physical therapy and strength training. Offering a unique blend of injury rehabilitation and pain management with improved health and fitness resulting in outstanding client outcomes.
Today we operate in our stand-alone studio location off of McGinnis Ferry Road. We have a staff of three certified personal trainers and one Doctor of Physical therapy working as a team to resolve client challenges and not only meet client’s goals but exceed them. Our clients begin their journey’s with us with a variety of goals from changing their cat’s litterbox to running an ultramarathon with out pain. We leverage our unique combination of skillsets to provide pain relieft, improve movement, and increase strength and resilience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Running a business is not a smooth journey and our road has been with stops and starts. I started my physical therapy career and GoTherex in 2020 following the worldwide pandemic. It was very challenging at first and I was blessed to have a wife and family that believed in me and helped to give me confidence as my business struggled to grow and I struggled to earn a living.
I love what I do and we always feel blessed to have others trust us with their health. We build strong relationships over time and for me the hardest part of my job is saying goodbye when a long-time client moves on. I truly miss the sessions with them, the time spent together guiding them through challenging exercises that often allow them to heal not only physically but often more. Exercise in an incredible medium of change and pain is often a physical manisfestation of psychological and spiritual pain.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Not only myself but our team at GoTherex are known for our measured and intential approach to exercise and physical therapy. Nothing is by chance and each aspect of our training, coaching, and programs is intentionally personalized to maximize the time we spend with our clients. We coach, guide, and correct our clients form, intentions, and guide them to improving not just the weight on the barbell but also improving the movement pattern and creating functional patterns of movement that can be replicated in everyday life to improved well being and physical capacity.
We have a few motto’s. One of my motto’s is that my job as a Doctor of Physical Therapy is not to tell you what you can’t do, it’s to create and execute a plan that enables you to do exactly what you want to do. I take a lot of pride in resolving challenging problems and giving clients a provider that will spend whatever time necessary to understand them and how to address their needs. Sometimes, time itself is the key factor, people are like onions and you learn a lot more about how solve a problem the more layers you are able to remove. Removing these layers takes time. Every session with us you spend the entire hour, sometimes more, with a skilled provider who is always coaching, assessing, and correcting.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My words of advice for mentoring are more cautionary than anything else. There are so many online mentors and coaching vying for your time, attention, and money. The University of Georgia offers the SBDC and Georgia Tech the ATDC. Both of these programs are free or very low cost. They offer better coaches and mentorship that the supposed online experts. Don’t spend money you don’t have on coaches. Read books, speak with the SBDC and ATDC. Then hire a profession specific coach once you have a successful business to grow. That’s what I wish I would have done.
