Today we’d like to introduce you to Ellisha Griffith.
Hi Ellisha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Absolutely. My journey has been anything but traditional, but every part of it has played a role in shaping who I am today. I started out with a dream to create a life and legacy that reflected my creativity, purpose, and passion. Along the way, I’ve worn many hats: entrepreneur, dancer, consultant, and writer.
Writing became a powerful outlet for me. It started as a personal release, but evolved into a deeper calling to share my story and help others do the same. I’ve written books that reflect real-life challenges, growth, and healing and through them, I’ve been able to inspire and connect with others on a meaningful level.
At the same time, I built businesses that represent different aspects of who I am from my wig line to my publishing and consulting company, and beyond. Each step required faith, resilience, and commitment.
But most importantly, I put God first. None of this would’ve been possible without Him. Every door that opened, every challenge I overcame it was God who made a way. I’ve learned to trust His timing, lean on His strength, and keep going even when things got tough.
Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come, but I know there’s still more ahead. And with God leading the way, I’m excited for what’s next.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. I’ve had my fair share of obstacles and struggles. One of the biggest challenges has been dealing with judgment people making assumptions based on how I look or what I do, especially being a dancer. They see the surface and think they know my story, without ever taking the time to actually understand me or my journey.
I’ve also faced financial ups and downs, times where I didn’t know how I was going to make things work, and moments where I seriously thought about giving up. I think everyone has those points in life where it feels overwhelming and uncertain. But I pushed through, leaned on my faith, and reminded myself of the bigger vision I’m working toward. Those tough times shaped me, and they gave me the strength and perspective I carry with me today.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Absolutely. I’m an author and entrepreneur, and while I do dance on the side to make ends meet, my true passion lies in creating, building, and helping others do the same. I specialize in helping people start businesses from guiding them through the process to coaching them on how to launch successfully. I also help people write and publish their books, whether it’s a short story, a life memoir, or something in between. I truly enjoy helping people bring their ideas to life.
In addition to that, I run a wig business where I sell high-quality virgin glueless wigs. It’s another creative outlet for me, and I love making people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
What I’m most proud of is honestly… me. I’ve been through a lot, but no matter my circumstances, I continue to push forward. I’m proud that I haven’t given up, and even more proud that I inspire others to keep going too. Knowing that people look up to me sometimes silently is both humbling and empowering. It reminds me that my journey has purpose beyond just myself.
What sets me apart is my determination to create. If I don’t know how to do something, I don’t stop until I figure it out. I don’t give up. And my strength I don’t just mean physical. I’m talking about emotional and mental strength. I’ve endured so much, but I still show up, I still give, and I still maintain a good heart, no matter what. That’s what makes me different.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking is a bit of a tricky one for me. I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle, I’m both a risk-taker and cautious, depending on the situation. There are moments when I’ll take a leap without hesitation, especially when something feels right in my spirit. I don’t overthink it I just go for it. But then there are other times when fear of failure creeps in, and I second-guess myself. I start overthinking all the possible outcomes and convince myself I’m not ready.
Still, even when I hold back at first, I usually find my way back to that same risk. It might take me a little time, but I eventually push through the fear and take the step. I’ve learned that growth often lives on the other side of risk, and while it’s not always comfortable, it’s necessary.
I think being a risk-taker doesn’t mean you’re fearless it means you move forward despite the fear. And that’s something I’ve done many times, especially in business and life decisions that others may not have understood. So yes, I do take risks… even if I hesitate, I always circle back and bet on myself in the end.
