Today we’d like to introduce you to Evan Covington.
Hi Evan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Photography has always been an interest of mine but in 2020 I pulled the trigger and bought my first camera. Starting from ground zero, my fraternity brothers were a significant influence on my aspirations. If I did not have the guidance from my line brother Antonio I would be half the photographer I am now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to being established in photography was far from smooth. There were many roadblocks to getting to where I needed to be and building my network. I can say I appreciated the pandemic because it allowed everyone to feel uncomfortable and that level of uncomfortably forced a change in everyone. That change made me realize living in a small town would not put me in the position I wanted to be in the media world. That push helped me decide to move to Atlanta to grow within my network and my community.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in portrait photography, and my goal in every photo is to make the viewer feel like they caught a glimpse in time of what I was able to capture. I love to put out the edgiest and creative sets to engage my followers and have them prepared for my next post.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I love to watch youtube videos on how to expand my skill set I feel as though youtube is a university in itself.
