Check Out Felecia Killings’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felecia Killings.

Hi Felecia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My story begins in Pittsburg, CA.

I was raised in a Black Conservative home. Both my biological parents were Pastors of a small church at the time. This upbringing shaped my social, political, and economic philosophy.

During my early years, I had a strong desire to be a high-school teacher. I pursued this passion wholeheartedly. And by age 21, I had realized my dreams.

As one of two Black teachers on a staff of 100 White educators, I encountered several obstacles. During my career, I dealt with hostile students. I received little to no support from the administration when I was being blackmailed and threatened. The situation resulted in false allegations that ultimately caused me to fight a criminal case in 2010.

It took me nearly three years to get my name cleared. But the entire matter killed my spirit. I chronicled the details of my story in my newest memoir, “To My Beloveds: A Memoir of My Personal Comeback in the Aftermath of My Scandalous Story.”

In the book, I discuss how my ex-husband and I became pregnant in the middle of fighting that case. But because of the extreme stress, I would have lost my pregnancy if I didn’t get help or get some control over the matter. Without going into too much detail, I finally let God handle the matter. And in 2013, the prosecutor worked with me to have the case dismissed and my name cleared.

After defeating that matter, I knew I needed healing. My marriage was in shambles as my ex-husband entangled himself in his own criminal activity. The marriage was also physically and mentally abusive. So, I decided to leave and start over in a new city with my toddler daughter.

That’s when everything changed for the better.

In Sacramento, CA, I learned to rebuild my life after enduring the fiercest trauma. I surrounded myself with empowering wives and mothers who embraced me and my daughter in their community. I learned how to create an online business and virtual ministry. I used my teaching skills to develop a coaching program for women.

And in 2016, the Holy Spirit asked me to launch a virtual ministry that would empower millions more.

I accepted that call. And today, in 2022, my work has reached the heights of conservative politics. More than 40,000+ men and women follow my social, political, and economic platform through “The Felecia Killings Foundation.” My empowering message has generated over 60,000,000 impressions on Twitter.

I’ve been featured on major outlets as an empowering voice who’s bringing political competition to Black voters in Atlanta, GA. And I have a national work — the Conscious Conservative Movement — that continues receiving attention for our outreach, literacy classes, and more.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to use my hardships to create something empowering. My testimony is an example to other women who are hiding in their “caves” or who are fearful about manifesting their calling simply because of their hard stories. I teach women how to own their truths and build a business or ministry around their story.

And when they’re ready, I show them how to package that insight in book format so readers will also receive healing.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No one’s journey is easy, but how we choose to see life’s circumstances demonstrates our ability to succeed.

One struggle I dealt with over the years was the desire to remain obsolete after going through my “public crucifixion.” When the Holy Spirit asked me to launch the public platform, I didn’t want to do it because I had developed such comfort in my private life. But I knew He had a message He wanted me to share.

The struggle most of the time had been me warring against God’s will. I could find no rest as I tried running from His calling. It wasn’t until I surrendered that’s when new opportunities emerged.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite memories are of my family and I going to Disneyland every summer. Before my parents divorced, these were the fondest moments to me because they showed me later on what a successful, loving family could be.
