Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Largo, Christy Lam, And Lyka Lecena
Hi Heather Largo, Christy Lam, and Lyka Lecena, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Lumière Atl started all because of three close friends who loved scouring social media for unique wedding trends. One day, one of us had shared a stunning photo of a VOGUE magazine-style photo booth from the UK, and we were instantly wowed. It looked so unique, like nothing we had seen before. This specific magazine photo booth gave off such a grand appeal, and you could tell it was well-structured and thoughtfully made. Immediately, all three of us agreed to jump on this photo booth trend. All we could imagine were our friends and family striking fun poses while creating lasting memories, and it became clear that this was the perfect way to add a personal touch to any event. We knew we had to share this one-of-a-kind service with others in our city. Our goal was to bring people together, create good vibes, capture unforgettable moments, all while having fun in the process. This is how Lumière Atl came to be.
Lumière Atl is a luxe magazine photo booth company currently servicing Atlanta, Georgia. Our company is proudly owned by three Asian women, each bringing her own unique strengths and vibrant personality to the table. Our magazine photo booth was designed and custom-built by a carpenter from the UK, who flew to the US for this one-of-a-kind project. Not only are we thrilled to share our stunning magazine photo booth with Atlanta, but we are even more excited to see how you personalize and incorporate it into your next big event!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a new small business takes a lot of dedication and is very time consuming. Being friends has made our journey both easy and more challenging. One of our biggest obstacles has been separating work from our personal lives. Since we are very close knit friends, stressing the importance of maintaining our friendships outside of work is crucial. Setting boundaries between work and our friendship can be challenging. On one hand, these are the people you want to share exciting news with in the middle of the night. On the other hand, it’s important to maintain some distance so everyone has their own space and time away from work. Striking a balance between staying connected and ensuring that work doesn’t dominate all our conversations can be tough, but it’s crucial for maintaining both personal and professional harmony.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our professions weren’t always in the events industry. While we share the same vision for our company, our individual qualities are what create a dynamic blend that keeps our business both consistent and diverse.
Heather: I am currently an Aesthetics Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of professional nursing experience. I was also a Facility Administrator for a vascular outpatient surgery center and know the importance of a well-organized and structured business, as well as being in compliance with rules and regulations. My role with Lumière is to keep the company on its A-game. As the Business Administrator, I keep the business organized and am also behind all of the day to day emails, inquiries and DM’s on social media as I also play a big part in our marketing. Let’s connect!
Christy: After completing grad school I became an Art Teacher in New Jersey, teaching students between the ages of 4-10. Years later I returned to Atlanta, where I worked at the Georgia Aquarium as a Guest Services Attendant. Eventually, I discovered Maclab, a local café, in which I was able to create beautiful designs on delicate handmade macarons. Currently, in my role with Lumière, I focus on General Management and design. I work to improve efficiency, all while creating the perfect magazine cover photobooth for our clients and bringing their visions to life.
Lyka: I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel, Restaurant, & Institutional Management. Starting as a Guest Service Attendant in the Hotel setting, I quickly realized my skills and bubbly personality were more matched in the events industry. I worked my way from a Banquet Server, to Banquet Supervisor, and eventually a Banquet Manager. I have endless professional experience working weddings and corporate events while maintaining a fun social persona. I am the Event Manager for all of Lumière’s events and am excited to work with you all in the near future!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Magazine photo booths are definitely a trend this year! Hopefully this trend continues to grow because we love how our luxe prop captures endless memories and brings people together. In today’s culture, personalization is key and couples and event planners alike are always looking for personalized touches to incorporate a thoughtfully planned event. Our customizable magazine photo booth allows our clients to tailor the experience to match their event’s theme or brand. With the help of our team, custom designs and decor can be planned and designed to create a cohesive and memorable experience. From cascading balloon set-ups to floral arrangements, the creative possibilities to enhance our magazine photo booth are endless. Whatever new trend comes our way, we know we will be able to adapt to it, and if anything we will continue to make our photo booth more unique. Lumière Atl believes that this hot new trending photo booth experience will stick around for years to come and is perfect for corporate events, weddings, and parties where creating a unique and glam atmosphere is essential.
