Check Out Henry & Crystal Pippins’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henry & Crystal Pippins

Hi Henry & Crystal , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When we moved to the Atlanta Metro area in 2019, we had just sold our Life Skills Training Center Property in Indianapolis, Indiana. We operated this ministry for 9 years in the Indianapolis metro area, after having operated the same type ministry in Joliet, Illinois. Since 2001, we have owned and operated the same type of Life Skills Training Ministry in three major metro areas (Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta). Our focus, for the last 25 years has been to train, support, and help people to have the Life Skills that are necessary and the resources needed to live a healthy and prosperous spiritual life. After relocating to the Atlanta Metro area, we purchased a property in Downtown Douglasville, with plans to restart our Life Skills Ministry in Douglasville, Ga. Soon after our relocation, COVID-19 broke out, so we did not have the opportunity to have much use out of our location. However, we did some online training and several workshops. Now, 25 years after starting this organization we have restarted our life skills training, community services, and various training programs to serve the Douglasville community & metro-Atlanta area.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting any type of small business or community service in the U. S., be it for profit or non-profit, is no smooth road. The average American small business and/or community service in the U. S., has an 85% failure rate within the first three years. We know as we have owned small businesses for over 30 years. However, we have been blessed to stay in business in three different states and have another opportunity to thrive by helping people here in the great state of Georgia. We have had lean years and very prosperous years, but we are still in business. When we opened in Georgia in 2020, not too long after we purchased the property, COVID-19 broke out and people were not going out of their homes for community activities. We held several seminars online and a few in person events. This was a real challenge after moving to a new state. However, we were able to maintain our business licenses, etc. , and our property until people started coming back out. We are still here today, despite that COVID-19 pandemic, ready to serve and ready to train.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
