Check Out Israel’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Israel.

Hi Israel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Basically, I’ve been making music forever, trying out different cheap ways. ($20 Microphones, My phone, Stock Laptop Mics) My mom bought me my first USB Mic when I was 14, and from there I was obsessed. It was mad crappy but way better than any previous option. I eventually thought no one was going to take my rapping serious so then I started making beats. That is what got some people to start noticing me… but skip ahead a couple of years, lost friends, made some, met my girlfriend right now and transferred Highschool’s. I was still constantly making beats and trashy songs on my $20 Mic. My first period class was Chemistry CP. Along in that class was another Asian kid named Rio. (CTO Chop) Who, basically at the time, I didn’t really speak to because my old crowd of friends was against him. But I was tired of thinking like everyone else, and I forgot why I even hated this dude. Anyway, I knew he made music and he knew I made it. It only started when our Teacher gave us a challenge that no one was gonna make a song/movie about a lesson we were learning. I’m always the one to go above and beyond so I thought I’d do it. Only for me to come in the next day and Chop did the same thing. So we both presented ours and the whole class messed with it.

Our cool ass teacher let us skip our whole day, paused his lesson for that day and showed them to everyone of his periods. After me and Chop both saw how much of a worth ethic we had, we made plans to hang out and record another “Science Rap” after school. So we did and when we showed the class they loved it again, and it was that next day wherein study hall my teacher told me that he wrote a rap before. I thought it was crazy and somewhere along that, we made plans to get Mr. Hettes on a song. After we did that, it gave us some clout around school for our raps, but not enough for everyone to support me and Chop. This lil event jump started me and Chops friendship and our ability to grow. We hung out almost every week learning, studying, and most importantly just having fun in the studio. Finding our sounds, this is when I made Daredevil! and Hit My Step! (w/ Mathiastyner) We both slowly upgraded our Studios and once what was a different part Studio that Chop would have to bring parts to make work has turned into both of us having our full own home Studio’s. I’ve been grinding so hard, now I have our own fanbase, just putting out good, hard, fun music. I worked with a lot of huge artists like: EGOVERT, KIL, KILLBUNK, WHEREI$MEZ, KIDx, Wavehi, Mathiastyner, Mastamiind, Ihatesunday, IFN Akai, Hybrid, and so many more! We only going to get bigger.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely getting people to support you. Especially when everyone around me only wants to listen to Lil Baby or Pop Smoke.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Trap Metal artist. There is two genres in this genre. Trap or Metal. I could make a fire song with a good beat and the catchiest flows, or I can vent into my Mic and literally just scream how I feel. It’s very therapeutic, but I’m also known for being goofy, however, serious. It’s not Meme Rap. One thing that sets me apart from other artists is my ability to make my own beats, mix and master my own voice, and promote myself. I am currently seeking management right now, but I’m okay without it.

Also my little sister makes all of my cover arts.

The artists that inspired me… now I have a lot of songs with most of them.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I feel like you should always learn, study, analyze. If you hear a fire ass song that you didn’t make. You’re allowed to get jealous. It depends what you are going to do with that feeling.

Don’t copy, don’t steal. Just use your inspiration and go with it.

However, that song made you feel put all of that energy and hype-ness down.

Write it down.

A song you made could’ve inspire someone to make their best song and I find that really cool.

That’s why I love making music. A lot of artists have done the world for me without ever realizing it.
