Today we’d like to introduce you to Iyara Smith.
Hi Iyara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got into fashion design school and even received a scholarship, but I still couldn’t adopts to attend. I have been a one woman show styling freelance styling shoots since 2016. Whether it is a shoot for my model friends, collaborating with photographers, or building my own personal portfolio., I’m usually the stylist and/or MUA on set. I always was a hands on leaner, so I applied as an assistant bridal stylist for a company called Vainglorious Brides. This role always keeps me on my toes and there always a skill to learn each wedding.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road. I travel between two states and three cities constantly. It can be tiring, but if it means doing what I love. I’m willing to travel.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently am a virtual stylist. I specialize in styling business professionals/entrepreneurs, but I am known for developing and refining my clients personal style. I am most proud of my styling from a shoot I did March 2025. My attention to detail is what sets me apart from others. It can be a simple as making sure a lapel is not flattened or adding a brooch to cover up a knot on a scarf top.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like most about the city is the natives. What I least like about the city is the outsiders that moved to ATL and constantly compare ATL to their hometown.
