Check Out Jacqueline Parsons’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jacqueline Parsons.

Jacqueline Parsons

Hi Jacqueline, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My pursuit to turning my passion for entertaining into a career goal has been a journey that I’ve been on for quite some time. My love for the arts has been something I’ve always had great admiration for from a very young age. Dance, being my first love, has gained me several television appearances, dance instructing opportunities, and the skillset as a theatrical and professional performer. Currently, I’ve been focused on modeling and acting. I began my modeling journey in 2022 after I was scouted by Icon Studios Atlanta to do a studio session.

Blown away by how great my pictures turned out, the studio director strongly suggested that I should consider taking my talent for modeling further. I gave the idea deep thought and decided to take a shot at it.

I started networking within my community and through social media. This gained me insight within the industry, allowing me to be connected with the Alanta fashion community and model castings.

Since then, I’ve had the pleasure in walking the runway for several Atlanta and out-of-state designers. In addition to my accomplishments, I’ve been published in fashion editorial magazines such as Fashion Republic, Marika, Pump, LOOPLITE, Sarze, Figgi, Feather, and Artells.

The highlight of them all was being selected to grace the cover for Fashion Republic and Feather Magazine.

In March, I was honored to play the lead role as the mother in the stageplay Monkey’s Can’t Sell Bananas. This was my first acting gig that I really enjoyed being a part of. It was a remarkable experience that has opened the door for me to proceed on my path to becoming a stage and/or screen actress.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Becoming an entertainer or working within the entertainment industry has always been my dream from a little girl. I loved to dance so in my high school and young adult years, I found myself joining various dance groups and performing within the community in the Virgin Islands. My grandmother, who raised me, showed her support by allowing me the freedom to explore my talents. Sadly, I did not receive the same support from other members of the family. The lack of support caused me to feel like my passion was not taken seriously, which eventually hindered my growth from tapping into my full potential. I’ve been faced with years of opposition within my family circle, friendships, and romantic relationships. They would willingly and willfully cause conflict in my life constantly in hopes to detour me from my part so that I’m not able to follow my dreams and fulfill my purpose.

Coming to full realization of the true reason behind why I was targeted and why my life was not flourishing immediately got me on my spiritual part. I started my healing journey, and now I’m finally in a place of my life where I’m at peace and healed. I’ve overcome years of betrayal, narcissistic abuse, spiritual attacks, abandonment issues, and childhood trauma, all thanks to God.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Aside from being a single mom to my 17-year-old daughter, I work full-time for Instacart Atlanta corporate office. I’m a small business owner and an aspiring model and actress. I’ve been working diligently towards my goals and doing all that needs to be done to be successful. I’m most proud of how resilient I am and all the things that I’ve accomplished so far and throughout the years. I’m proud of the simple fact that I’ve been able to get this far despite the hardships that I’ve faced and still be optimistic.

What sets me apart is my authenticity. My willingness to stand up for what’s right. My mindset to never give up. My boldness to be different.

Any big plans?
My plan is to help raise the vibration of the planet. I want to provide an outreach program to the younger generation that is going through the same hardships that I did. I want to be part of a movement for keeping the arts alive while being an impactful role model.
