Check Out Janaya Burke’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janaya Burke.

Hi Janaya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I was 17 years old, I took a body contouring training course after I had just got out of high school. After the training during the summer, I decided to start offering the service before starting college. Once summer was over, I couldn’t offer the service as much because being a freshman in college all of my time was then focused on school. After taking many courses and being a full-time student in college, my focus slowly started to drift away. I then started to learn more about aesthetician schools which automatically caught my attention with everything that the schools had to offer. After thinking about it for the remaining semester, I then decided to follow my intuition and go to aesthetician school. After a full year went by I then graduated and took my Georgia state exams. After passing each exam I then decided to open my own business at 19 years old. Thus became the birth of Belle Lux Day Spa. Continuously furthering my education in skincare, I take monthly classes with dermatologist to make sure that I am always getting the knowledge that is needed.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are always struggles along the way it’s all about your response and the way you correct your mistakes. Building clientele when first opening is one of the main struggles in having a business. It’s all about your marketing, targeting clients (gender, age, etc.), pacing yourself.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a licensed aesthetician, I specialize in many different services from body waxing, vajacials, facials, and much more. I am known for body waxing and vajacials that is my most popular service. I am proud of my growth starting a business at such a young age there is so much to learn. There are so many ups and downs and instead of giving up when things get hard, I have decided to continue to push forward no matter any blockages that may appear. What sets me apart from others is that this is my passion & I enjoy helping with building the confidence of others. A lot of times, we are so insecure with certain parts of our body so I love being able to not only assist with one area but many different areas.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
The advice I would give to those who are just starting out is to go at your own pace. Don’t go off of other’s success because you all are different take time to learn what is best for you. Make sure to take time out to build your knowledge on what you are offering or selling. Be confident in what you have to offer and never be scared to ask for help…
