Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaxon Baker.
Hi Jaxon , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been drawn to music, even from a young age. Plus, my older brother Miles is a DJ in New York I started DJing when I was nine, just for fun at a local snowball stand called Nolan’s, and quickly realized how much I loved creating energy and connecting with people through music. From there, I started getting small gigs at school events, family gatherings, and local community events, which gave me the confidence to pursue it more seriously.
Over time, I began getting official bookings, like being the DJ for the “Live With Pep Talk Tae Show” and community events like Clayton County Trunk or Treat. I’ve also had the opportunity to DJ for festivals, fashion shows, celebrity meetups, and even stage plays. Every experience has been a learning opportunity and has helped me grow both creatively and professionally.
What’s been really special is seeing how my music can bring people together and create memorable moments, whether it’s at a school dance, a family celebration, or a larger community event. Even at 14, I feel incredibly blessed to have turned something I love into a platform where I can inspire and entertain others, and I’m excited to keep growing from here.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road—especially starting so young. One of the biggest challenges has been balancing school, practice, and gigs while still trying to have a normal childhood. Early on, getting opportunities and being taken seriously as a young DJ was tough, because people sometimes underestimated my skills due to my age.
There have also been logistical challenges—transporting equipment, learning how to manage bookings, and adapting to different event environments. But every struggle has been a learning experience. Each challenge taught me discipline, professionalism, and how to connect with different audiences.
Honestly, the struggles have made the successes feel even more rewarding. Seeing people enjoy the music, watching events come together, and building a reputation in my community has made every obstacle worth it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a DJ and entertainer, and I specialize in creating energy and memorable experiences at events of all kinds—from school dances and community festivals to celebrity meetups and stage plays. I’ve been DJing since I was nine, and over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work with a variety of artists, brands, and organizations, including Southern Soul musicians, local fashion shows, and radio events like Streetz94.5 ATL and FAM Radio.
I’m known for my versatility and ability to read a crowd—whether it’s a family reunion, a school prom, or a large festival, I aim to make every event unique and engaging. I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to build a reputation in my community at just 14 years old, connecting with people and creating experiences that bring joy and energy.
What sets me apart is my passion, professionalism, and the level of dedication I put into every event, no matter the size. I bring creativity, consistency, and a love for music that allows me to turn ordinary moments into memorable ones.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality for my success is passion. I genuinely love what I do, and that excitement comes through in every event I DJ. Beyond passion, discipline and consistency have been crucial—showing up prepared, practicing regularly, and taking every opportunity seriously, no matter the size.
I also think adaptability is key. Every crowd and event is different, so being able to read the room and adjust on the fly has made a big difference in creating memorable experiences. Combining passion, discipline, and adaptability has really helped me grow and succeed at such a young age.
