Check Out Jayd Greene’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayd Greene.

Hi Jayd, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Creativity has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started drawing at six years old and grew up surrounded by music and art. I began doing makeup at fourteen and started painting at sixteen, using different mediums to explore storytelling and emotion. At eighteen, working at Netherworld expanded my perspective and pushed me toward more conceptual, immersive creative looks. Modeling later introduced me to film, where I gained a deeper understanding of visual storytelling. Through that experience, I realized I was more inspired by building the vision than being in front of the camera. Today, my work centers on creativity, intention, and bringing ideas to life!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is the culture of gatekeeping, especially in creative spaces where access and information aren’t always shared freely. There were times when film felt almost impossible to break into simply because I didn’t know where to start. Instead of waiting for my opportunity, I had to speak it into existence and create my own lane. I built a plan to start where I was, using fantasy makeup as a way to showcase my ideas and get my name out there. Even when it wasn’t something I had done before, I committed to learning publicly and trusting my vision. That willingness to start before feeling “ready” is what helped me push past those barriers and create my own path.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a licensed esthetician, laser technician, and film (sfx) makeup artist, but at my core I’m a visual artist. My work extends beyond makeup. I often step into roles as a creative director and prop maker, helping shape the full visual of a project. I’m known for being well-rounded and adaptable, able to bring a vision to life from concept to execution.

What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come despite moments when my talent wasn’t fully seen or recognized. Every opportunity I’ve built has come through genuine networking and showing up consistently, which makes the journey even more meaningful. I’m especially grateful to Dashawn DeBose and Jordan Rose for trusting me and giving me the space to fully express my artistic ability while helping bring their visions to life.

What sets me apart is my mindset! I’m always willing to keep learning, and I’m just as committed to sharing knowledge as I am to gaining it, no matter what level I’m at.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Over the next five to ten years, I see the industry becoming more collaborative and accessible, with creatives creating their own entry points instead of waiting for traditional opportunities. Personally, I see myself teaching others how to get into film work and helping bridge that gap for emerging artists. I’m also excited about the shift toward more diverse storytelling and visually intentional projects. As the industry evolves, I hope to be part of spaces that value originality and creative freedom. Long term, I’d love to collaborate with companies like Monkeypaw Productions, Blumhouse Productions or Hoorae Media, where strong vision and storytelling are at the forefront!
