Check Out Joe O’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe O.

Hi Joe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started making music in 2012 professionally. I grew up in New Jersey but I used to spend a lot of time with my dad who was based in the south and that’s where I started exploring the city of Atlanta. It’s been a great journey from collaborating with different artists, doing shows & networking with new talent. I started a movement called “G$D Global” in 2019 which stands for Get $*** Done, which is a motivational phrase inspiring people to achieve their goals & chase their dreams. My team & I hosted our very first own G$D Global pop-up shop in New Jersey selling merch & performing and we’ll be taking it to Atlanta & D.C next.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been a promising but yet challenging road so far. To me, I just accept things for what it is because I believe obstacles shape you into who are. I struggled for some time trying to find my sound, moving to a new city trying to pursue music, getting people to believe in my craft & etc.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a hip-hop recording artist, producer & songwriter. I specialize in making music & people know me most for having good songs, great lyrics & punchlines. I’m most proud of the work I put into myself overall being an independent artist. Also, I’m proud to announce my website drops soon and merchandise will be on sale. What makes me different is that I infuse my Nigerian culture, language & fashion style in my music & visual content. It gives me a different swag than others

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love how there are so many talented & creative people from Franklin, New Jersey but I hate how we can’t work together and help each other elevate. It’s too much jealousy & envy
