Johanna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am Johanna and I am the artist owner at black rose beauty lab.
I have been in the permanent makeup industry for a little over 5 years, and last year I decided to open my own business in a salons suites.
It was something that came out of the blue, but I embraced my self for the impact that was opening a business on such a short notice, and made it happen. I’d say God was with me every step of the way since everything came together so seamlessly, and it continues to do so. But I also had to set my mind into hustle mode and not let off the gas and still haven’t. I am in an industry in which I have to get new clients in the door every single month since my services have a return time of a year or more.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Having to continue to get new clients every month is honestly the biggest challenge since my services last over 12 months I don’t have clients coming back every 3 weeks like nails and lashes do.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do cosmetic tattooing of the brows, I specialize in enhancing your natural beauty with nano brows, powder brows and combo brows. I am most proud of the fact that my work is very natural, and that my customers recommend me consistently. What sets me apart from others is the fact that when you’re on my chair you’re my only focus, i do not rush in between clients because I don’t over book myself. For me getting your brows done is not just about the procedure itself but about the experience and service you’ll receive under my care.
What makes you happy?
Getting positive feedback from past clients, it makes my day because it means that overtime my work has stayed how it should’ve and my client is still happy about it.
