Check Out Joseph Rush’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Rush.

Joseph, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Throughout my early 20’s I challenged myself to go out and secure the life I always dreamt of; the life of someone successful. I knew this wouldn’t have been an easy task, but I knew in order to separate myself would be through success. After moving back to Atlanta and realizing I was not able to enroll at Georgia State University for my master’s program due to them not offering the particular courses, I needed that semester and I quickly found myself in the fast past lifestyle of sales. Through this channel, I was able to strengthen what most viewed as one of the most basic skills known to man, which was art of communication. I learned how to engage into dialogue and effectively build a relationship through the nature of conversation from there, this allowed me to meet an associate who was into Wholesale Real Estate. Once I was introduced to the idea that I could make 15k, 20k+ off one transaction I knew this was I needed to dedicate myself to. Real Estate quickly became my life and was something I committed myself to 24/7, nearly 365 — I knew if I wasn’t the one out there securing a contract to purchase, someone else was.

Like anything in life, you often realize the instant success does not come overnight. I was able to work my way from a smaller family-owned brokerage that focused more so on wholesale deals, and was recruited by one of the largest internet buying companies (ibuyers) and went from working solely commission based lifestyle to one of which that was salaried at nearly double and bonus reaching $80K a year, but in this life I also found out that corporate life can be a really cutthroat workplace; I felt completely out of place, I absolutely felt hated going into that office everyday, I was depressed but didn’t want to walk away from the paychecks and found myself doodling “I Got Bigga Jreams” on a notepad not knowing that phrase would be the most important things to ever happen to my life.

My girlfriend was pregnant with our first child, and I was in the process of purchasing our first home from the very company I was employed by before getting a phone on dreadful morning letting me know I was getting terminated due to covid shutdowns.

With the knowledge I gained over the past five or so years, I was able to go back and close a wholesale real estate deal for nearly $50k not even a month later and allowed me to go out and make the future I set out for myself.

Since that point, I’ve not only been able to open my first retail location, but I’ve also been able to launch my own entertainment company, JreamTeam Ent LLC), which is the figurehead of my clothing company, Bigga Jreams Merch, and my private catering company, JreamTeam Eatz.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There were lots of obstacles and although I may have made a few wrong turns, I’ve never felt as if I were “lost”. There’s always a process to anything in life you do, and there’s never a one size fits all category on life — what may work for one entrepreneur may not work for the next person.

One of the biggest struggles I’d say was battling through launching a business that relied on support of the community at a time when the community was in one of the biggest financial downfalls that our generations has witnessed. I couldn’t pay attention to the day to day sales, I had to keep my mind focused on learning how to edit photos, build content, create flyers, and overall develop ways to market and find alternative ways to get my logo seen by millions; I knew if I focused on the thing I could control and stayed focused that eventually everything I dreamed of would come to fruition.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the CEO and founder of JreamTeam Ent, an entertainment company based out of Atlanta, GA focusing in the art of fashion and private catering. One of the biggest thing I am most proud of is being able to show the younger generation that ANYTHING truly is possible and without the obstacles, you wouldn’t be able to appreciate the times when life is balanced.

I wouldn’t consider myself any different from any of my peers, we all face the same struggles of family, love, parenting, etc. — the one thing I was able to do was stay focused on the path that God created well before I even laid a foot on this earth.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
Watching the dedication that my father had to make sure he provided for our household is still something that I hold dear to my heart. My father was always someone who I strived to make proud.
