Check Out Joshua Goddard’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Goddard.

Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My name is Josh, and I am the owner of Servant Plumbing. I have been in the plumbing industry for over 25 years and acquired Servant Plumbing in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2010. Since then, we have grown and expanded our service areas throughout the Charleston region and recently into the North Atlanta, Georgia area.

In addition to my work in the trades, I have also served in ministry for over 20 years. My faith and calling to serve others have greatly shaped the way I lead both in business and in life. Servant Plumbing is built on that same foundation of service, integrity, and compassion.

We are a faith-based, locally operated company with the motto, “Heavenly owned and locally operated.” We believe in putting God first in everything we do and strive to approach every customer, home, and job with excellence and care, as unto the Lord.

Our mission is to provide honest, dependable, and high-quality plumbing services while building lasting relationships within the communities we serve. Through hard work, strong values, and a heart for service, Servant Plumbing has continued to grow while remaining committed to humility, professionalism, and servant leadership.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road. Like many small businesses, we have faced our share of challenges, including economic setbacks in 2023 and 2024, difficulties with staffing, seasons of sickness, and the everyday obstacles that come with life and running a growing company.

However, through every challenge, we have remained committed to pressing forward. Our faith, perseverance, and dedication to excellence have carried us through the difficult seasons. Rather than allowing obstacles to define us, we have used them as opportunities to grow stronger, refine our processes, and better serve our customers.

No business journey is without trials, but through it all, we continue to move forward with integrity, resilience, and a mindset to be the best we can be for the communities we serve.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in all things plumbing. From small projects such as faucet repairs to large projects such as bathroom remodels, main sewer replacements, and even whole house repipes where we will replace the entire water distribution system in your home.

I’d say the thing we are most proud of is the culture we have created inside our company. Everyone employed at Servant Plumbing has a commitment to excellence and proudly goes above and beyond for every customer.

The one thing that sets us apart from others is the faith we boldly share by placing the cross on our logo. In a climate where businesses do not want to offend people for fear of losing income, we stand firm on the foundation of who we are knowing what Jesus Christ has done for us is what makes up the bedrock of our character. Because of this, we seek to honor God in every home we enter. Our belief is that people deserve more than a service, they deserve a servants heart.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is when my dad took me to my first Atlanta Braves game. It was a special and meaningful moment that I will never forget. At the time, I never would have imagined that nearly 35 years later I would end up living in the Atlanta area myself.

That experience was more than just a baseball game—it was quality time with my dad, and it left a lasting impression on me. It’s a memory I still cherish today.
