Today we’d like to introduce you to K6wya
Hi K6WYA, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started in music production back in 2020 when I was still in college in Kansas. From there I decided to pursue music full time in 2022. I pack my bags and moved to ATL. I was spending as much time as I could in studios and meeting new people. That was the foundation for me to start solidifying myself as a music producer in the industry. From then I just kept working, and the work paid off! Now I have been able to be blessed to have worked with artist’s such as: Hunxho, Lil Poppa, Tee Grizzly, Skilla Baby, Doe Boy, Enphamus, DDG, Meek Mill, Etc.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The path that I have taken had a lot of bumps and challenges. A few nights had to sleep in my car. A few months I had to coach surf and stay at my friends spots. A few moments I didn’t know if I would have enough money for rent. But when u put your back against the wall, you’ll either sink or swim.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a music producer who has worked with many artists in the R&B and Hip Hop genre. I am 2x billboard. I also have done a recent collab project with Enphamus called: “Rush Hour”. I feel that what sets me aside from everybody else in this industry is that I just be myself. And because of that, I feel that a lot of people gravitate towards me. I’ve also been told many times that I have a reputation of being everywhere haha.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
They’re a lot of people who have helped me on the way. I would say all of my peers and friends have taught me so much about this industry and game that you can’t learn by picking up a book. Nard & B are my mentors in a sense in this game. They have taught me so much about how the industry really works and how to move with purpose and intention. A few other people who have really helped me understand how this game is would be my homies, and fellow producers, Twysted Genius, DB, Bobbykritical, Willafool, DJ Plugg, DunDealOnTheTrack, BuddahBless, ETC. There’s too many to name haha.
