Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalah Bilal
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I moved here 2021, and I’ve dominated since. Between a crazy amount of celebrity clients, magazines, school homecoming, interviews and collaborations. I did exactly what I aimed to do moving here, I chased my dreams. I now have a collection souly based on flowers and the inspiration that comes from it to design and create my very own “garden”. Im proof of nothing to something and losing everything and getting it back if anybody is.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not, I was homeless my first 2 years scratching to get to the top or get a big enough order to settle myself. I had to create a piece and sell everyday in order to keep up the hotel room I was staying in. Trying to make at least $170.00 a day of clothes. Family did not see the vision after so long of no results but now they do.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a designer, fashion designer. I’m so proud of my magazine covers. I take every order like a reward for my hard work. I’m not completely perfect but I work hard and I truly love my job. I don’t have sewing patterns or a specific way of sewing I sew in the way I taught myself I can eyeball measurements. I’ve never had a team but was always blessed with extremely supportive people in my life, my friends; Whitney and Kiara keep me so grounded along with my family and my honorable mention Jalahni my sweetheart. The best thing I can do is surround yourself with people who truly love you and believe in you.

My journey has never been easy, and for some it would feel like giving up was the only option bc you have to lose so many times before you can win. To anyone chasing a dream please understand that that’s exactly what you’re doing. CHASING.
