Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalyn Smith.
Hi Kalyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my business for two reasons, after my daughter I got eczema and extremely bad dry skin and wanted to create my own products to cater to them. The second reason is because I am an artist. Any form of art I love and creating soaps and produces give me that free will to be creative and fun while making things to benefit everyone.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
NO!!! Running a business is NOT smooth. It has been trial and error. Some items weren’t successful and I had to rebrand and rebuild numerous times. When you are creating something, you will spend and waste so much money and time and will elevate everyday. What was a big issue for me is the fact that I didn’t think what would attract my audience better.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in making body washes, soaps, lotions, lip glosses, candles, dessert candles, etc. I am known for my uniqueness. Everything I now make is something cool and something that speaks to my creativity. What sets me apart is me. I made everything to fit who I am.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My father and my bestfriend… These two have supported, my father helps me with the business side and my friend helps me by promoting and supporting.
