Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Zhanellé.
Hi Kayla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Entrepreneurship has been my passion since a kid. I grew up around family that had their own company and it motivated me so much to get my own story started. As a business owner I haven’t always had it easy but the lessons learned throughout the process led me to where I am now.
I had a clothing company called The Multi Hustle, made for kings and queens that make a way through their creativity, and due to having an active stalker I had to close down in 2022.
I can honestly say that allowing God to take the wheel, lead me, and bring it back around in my favor was honestly the best thing I could’ve done for myself then and now.
I specialize in nostalgia and comfort so I couldn’t wait to share my passions with the world. I made sure to think out of the box and provide something the people haven’t seen before!
Zhanellé is a 1 of 1 brand that’s new to my platform and I’ve put my all into it since 2022.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
You know now that I’m on top of the mountain looking down at life as an overview i can honestly say the road was smooth, I just had to change my perspective. I have a girl stalking me and it’s been about 8+ years of it now. Through that I’ve had to deal with business names being stolen, LLC documents being forged, them altering their appearance to look exactly like me, following and interacting with family, friends, business partners, etc. a lot of things most people only see in movies.
What got me through it though was a restraining order and putting my mustard seed of faith in God. I truly had to take hands off of solving my own problems and make peace with the process instead while knowing that all things against me would be worked out for my good. In Jesus name!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As a Jill of all trades, I can’t even put myself in one box. This year I have taken over YouTube and that’s where most of my time goes. Due to Instagram and TikTok kind of always changing something, I found that YouTube is consistent, and I have the freedom to be aesthetically who I prefer to be with no restrictions to my niche. I can say that I’m most proud of my consistency and dedication to the bigger picture. Where most people fall off or just stop completely. I challenge myself to do something different or make a major change that makes me fall in love with the passion again.
What sets me part is my drive to remain as an individual.
Everyone is looking alike sounding alike and doing some of the same stuff and even though my area of work is oversaturated, putting Totes in everything set me a part in a way that says “ ahh that has Totesmonroe all over it” “that’s totes aesthetic” if it’s Y2K, it’s Totes Monroe
What makes you happy?
What makes me happy is knowing that I’m living in answered prayer. Knowing that as long as I live in my truth, show up as myself, lead with love, and check in with my God first I can’t run into anything that is not for me. I can’t fall off or give into the world because I know God has my back just by giving him my all in the first place. That gives me a sense of peace that ties into joy and happiness
