Today we’d like to introduce you to Keith Williamson.
Keith, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised on the Eastside of Atlanta. I’m a celebrity wardrobe stylist. I started in fashion young, being my mom’s assistant as a teenager bout 13/14 years old. By 19, I was working as an apprentice at an atelier for a brand called Bstroy which is showcased at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have been working with them for around 10 years now. I also work with Alamo Music Group to style their artists, the main one being Lil Got It.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of the obstacles I have faced in this profession were in the beginning stages of my career. Associating with the right colleagues and putting in tons of hours of free work was definitely a challenge but staying focused is what kept me going. Learning how to trust yourself is truly the key to surviving in this industry.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Celebrity Wardrobe Stylist.
What does success mean to you?
Success to me is the ability to accomplish my inner goals and external financial goals while maintaining sanity in an ever-changing world.
