Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Lawal.
Kevin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started for me working with computers in Valdosta Georgia as a kid Growing up in Hyde Park. My grandfather bought us a gateway computer for our home and I was hooked ever since. I started out with graphic design but really was interested in how things work on the back end, so I just got involved with code at a young age. What helped also was MySpace where we would copy and paste code to make our pages unique. I’ve always been an educated hustler I would take old computers make them new with parts and sell them to people at the barbershop.
I’ve been able to work at some of the world’s largest IT companies as IBM and Samsung. Currently, I have a partnership with Salesforce and I’m an architect in other companies. I’ve built software for the US Navy and designed software for hospitals and surgeons for companies as stand up to cancer
Currently, I am the owner of Build and Grow Teknology specializing in many areas of technology from cloud computing to mobile app design. I have a team I’m putting together in Nigeria as that’s where my roots are from.
What really keeps me motivated in entrepreneurship is my family and flexibility and opportunities to meet people. I’ve been laid off before in times when I needed a job the most and vowed I’ll never be dependent on someone else job as corporate America is cutthroat. I love technology and would love to leverage health with technology as health is wealth.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being able to market the company build clientele and perform legal duties that require lawyers to write handbooks etc, some of the hard things doing this alone for the first time.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Traveling to Texas, my mom and Lil sister would drive there for vacation and to see family.
