Hi Khaiah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey as a self-taught hairstylist, working out of my kitchen with no license and barely charging my clients while I was still in cosmetology school. Coloring hair quickly became one of my greatest passions, and from there, I developed a love for all aspects of hair services. As I honed my skills, I started experimenting with wig-making and handcrafting pieces, which opened up even more creative avenues for me.
After school, I was fortunate enough to secure my first suite in Riverdale, where I averaged about three clients a month. Though the early days were slow, I remained determined and didn’t let that discourage me. Eventually, I made the move to Sharpsburg, and that’s when my business truly began to flourish. Now, I’m blessed with a loyal clientele who trust me with their hair, and I’ve built personal, meaningful relationships with each of them. It’s been a journey of growth, resilience, and passion for the craft.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were times when I felt completely discouraged and on the verge of giving up. In the early days, after I opened my first suite in Riverdale, I was only averaging about three clients a month. It was tough to see little progress, and there were moments when I questioned if I was on the right path. I remember breaking down, wondering if this dream was even worth pursuing.
But despite those struggles, I refused to let the setbacks define me. I kept pushing forward, reminding myself that growth takes time. Eventually, I took a leap of faith and moved my business to Sharpsburg, and that’s when things really started to change. There, I found my rhythm and began attracting clients who trusted me and supported my vision. I’ve learned that setbacks are part of the journey, and the key is to keep going even when things get hard.

I’m a versatile hairstylist specializing in custom wig-making, natural hair styling, and vibrant hair coloring. I’m known for my expertise in creating flawless silk presses for natural hair and delivering stunning color transformations. Whether it’s a sleek silk press, loc maintenance, protective styles, or vibrant color, I love helping my clients embrace their natural beauty and express themselves through their hair.
What I’m most proud of is the strong, trusting relationships I’ve built with my clients. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of watching them grow more confident in their appearance, and that personal connection is what means the most to me.
What sets me apart from others is the attention to detail and care I put into every service. I’m committed to continuously growing and learning, ensuring that I provide the best for each client. At the end of the day, it’s about creating looks that not only make my clients feel beautiful but also give them a sense of confidence that lasts long after they leave my chair.
