Check Out Kimberly D’Anna’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimberly D’Anna.

Hi Kimberly, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been in the cosmetology industry for nearly 20 years and have had the opportunity to work in several salons throughout the Atlanta area. Most recently, I managed a salon in Braselton, Georgia, where I spent almost a decade growing my skills and building lasting relationships with clients.

About four years ago, my family and I moved into my grandparents’ home in Jackson, Georgia. After commuting to Braselton for several years, my husband and I decided to take a leap of faith and open my own salon right here in Locust Grove — turning a longtime dream into reality.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course, there have been a few bumps along the way — that’s part of opening any new business. Starting out in a new area where I didn’t know many people meant I had to work hard to build a clientele from the ground up. I’ve relied heavily on social media, word of mouth, and local marketing to grow my business and help it thrive.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
After 20 years in the cosmetology industry, I’ve learned so many techniques and styles when it comes to creating beautiful hair. I’d say my specialties are blonding services and hair extensions — and I absolutely love doing extensions! There’s nothing quite like seeing the boost of confidence they give someone.

My favorite part of this career is helping people feel better about themselves. Whether it’s a fresh haircut, a new color, or adding extensions, even a small change can completely transform how someone feels inside and out. Seeing that spark of confidence and happiness is truly what makes my job so rewarding.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
One of the best things about the hair industry is how much it has advanced with technology. The color lines and smoothing treatments we use today are not only more effective but also much healthier for both the stylist and the client. It’s exciting to watch how these products and techniques continue to evolve.

When it comes to haircuts and styles, though, not much has truly changed. Many of today’s popular looks are inspired by styles from the past — they’ve just been given new names or modernized with slightly different techniques. It’s amazing how trends from decades ago always find their way back around with a fresh twist.
