Check Out Kofi Dotse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kofi Dotse.

Hi Kofi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
It started in final year of college when I decided to develop work skills. I was a content editor and manager for a travel information startup in Accra. I graduated with a Geology degree. However, I wasn’t employable at that time. I took several courses in the digital marketing field after my boss introduced me to the subject. I had the opportunity to work with an influencer marketing agency then and then got to work with a pr, advertising and communications agency.

From there, I kept growing in that field, working with global and local brands in various ways—content creation, influencing, social media management, strategy development, etc. Today, I have a little above six years of experience working in the social media marketing space. I am one of the most sought-after professionals in the industry in my country, and I plan to scale globally. Currently, I am a freelance travel journalist and a digital creator. I have written for several renowned publications like Global Citizen, Fodors Travel, etc.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road. I faced obstacles but developed thick skin, which took me through. I had to fight personal battles and some experiences.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a creative marketing professional, lifestyle influencer and a writer. I love to share travel and experiences gems across the African continent. I have done influencer campaigns for global brands on my social media channels. My work speaks for itself. I have an extensive and trusted record with working with brands, and there has been great feedback about my work.

My work is seen through word of mouth, which has been humbling. My career has just started and I am excited about the future.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
When I work hard with someone or a brand on a project, and I put smiles on their faces; it’s a big win for us all. I love building brands.
