Check Out Kylie River’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kylie River.

Hi Kylie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
About two years ago I was in a really bad spot in my life and honestly, I stopped caring about myself and my life entirely. When I was at my lowest point, I learned about Parkour. Parkour is a sport where u learn how to interact with obstacles in your environment safely, efficiently, and creatively based off of the way your body naturally moves. I fell in love with the sport, and I honestly see it more as almost first aid or self-defense. Parkour teaches you how to fall without getting hurt, how to climb up on things correctly without using your knees, how to know where your body is in a space and what it’s capable of, plus so much more. I fell so in love that I wanted to teach others how to do Parkour as well so I’m just six months of training I became a certified Parkour Instructor. I taught ages 3-70 what Parkour was and why I believed it was important for everyone to have a knowledge of the basic skills and techniques. Everyone loved it and I also got so many opportunities out of it.

Growing up my mom has been sick my whole life, so I didn’t have a normal upbringing because of my mom’s health issues there were limitations in what my family could do. A lot of the time my dad was working and my mom was sick in bed so I had to hang out at the house and my favorite thing to do was watch tv. One of the most monumental moments of my childhood was sitting in front of the TV watching Alex Russo (AKA Selena Gomez) on Wizards of Waverly place. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t the kid that sang along to the theme song every time it came on tv and tried to remember the spells and act like I was using a wand just like in the show… I mean, who didn’t? Even tho at that age, I didn’t know how much of an effect it had on me, that’s definitely where my love for Acting/TV/ and film came from. I know for as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to be and Actress, it was just something I was so scared of pursuing I never even gave the idea a chance. Fast forward a year and one of the classes I was coaching at the Parkour gym I worked for in Ohio called Swift Movement Studios had ended and I decided to join another class for fun. Little did I know that would change my life forever because that is when I met Abi Esmena my now Acting coach who brought her two sons in for a class. Once I found out she ran her own acting class studio, I had to give it a try… and I loved it!

Only a couple of months later did she help me get signed with my first Commercial Acting and Modeling agency Heyman Talent Agency. Parkour gave me the courage to finally pursue my dreams and I am so thankful for the people in my life that have helped me get where I am now and who kept me on my path to being the best version of me. I just signed with my agency in May 2022 and started putting myself out there any way I can including becoming a Content Creator and posting about what my life is like as an Athlete and Actress. People started to love it and in the past year I got myself from 2,000 followers to over 11k and it’s just the beginning. Now finally fast forward to December 2022 I made one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make and decided to make the leap of faith and move to Atlanta Georgia to pursue my love of Tv and Film on a much higher scale. I also decided I wanted to pursue a music career and become a Singer and write music. I have not only had the opportunity to work with huge names like The Walking Dead, Nick Cannon, Hallmark, ESPN, and so much more I am also in the process of coming out with my first album and I could not be more proud of myself and where I’ve come from in just two years.

I have loved living in Georgia and wouldn’t change my decision for the world. I am so proud of all the hard work, sleepless nights, and unbreakable faith in myself that I could do anything I put my mind too. It definitely wasn’t easy and I definitely didn’t do it alone but I was willing to do whatever it takes to make my dreams come true. This is only the beginning and you will be hearing and seeing much more of me in the future. My goal is to teach others like me who are going through a hard time that anything is possible, there is always going to be bad days and there is always going to be good days. It’s a blessing every day that u wake up and you only get one life so please don’t waste it. Try to make the best life you can for yourself, and spend every day like it’s your last by doing what you love and what you care about. The show is never as important as the why, my favorite quote ever is by Will Smith “The best things in life are on the other side of fear.” So go get ‘em tiger and be FEARLESS!!
